Rare 'Early Retirement' Two-Handed Sword

Anyone else noticed that this isn't actually a two handed sword? I'm not sure whether I should report it as a bug.

You mean a photo of it being wielded? I can take a screenshot if I play today but if you use cheat mode it should show up in the inventory.

Is it possible that it's a dual one/two-handed sword and I wasn't using it properly? How would you switch between the two, if that's even a thing in the game?

i havent seen this sword too but the tooltip says if its 1h&2h and you can use ''X'' to toggle between them (make sure you put your shield back 1st).

I just tested it and you can use it as a two handed weapon by pressing x like the above post said.

Do you really have to press X now to switch from 1H to 2H? Its not like Warband where if you just put the shield away it switches to 2H automatically? Why would you ever want to use a bastard sword as a 1H with no shield instead of a 2H?

Only thing I can think of, is if the weapon has different stats for when used 1h or 2h, meaning that for example, used as 1h it has additional swing speed maybe, but as 2h more handling?
Still wouldn't make sense to me, because using it with 2h should make it better for everything I believe, but maybe that's why. I used to find that sword a lot in tournaments but haven't for a long while, never bothered to actually use it either.

Yeah, usually the 1H stats are much worse than the 2H stats or even a dedicated 1-hander. The only benefit of a 1H/2H weapon is that you get a 2-hander with the option of pulling out the shield when you need it. I suppose someone might want to use it 1H with no shield so they can use the perk for that, but that seems like an edge case to me.

Not sure, but It might come in handy if you want to use the duellist perk - 20% dmg + tournament renown

Noudelle has a thread about this pressing X to switch to 2h. There is no reason to use bastard swords with 1h if you dont have a shield
