its possible to change that yourself, just go into conversation.txt, find the dialog and replace where it says"then marry me fortwith and stay here as my wife" with what you want. (smart do to a backup first though)

I don't know for 1.120+, as unfortunately I have no Ladies in distress.
As You know many of us reported this and also being able to woo other Ladies after marriage to BugTracker. So probably they fixed it.

In medieval terms, both options would make sense, since there have been many historical forced kidnapp marriages for political gain as well. Anyways, this is more a theme for an adult mod than for the vanilla native.

Forcing a woman to marry you in this game is not an adult mod. Considering they are practically useless features you rarely interact with anyway.

Well, adult just because it is a little more brutal option than most games bring.  But I get your point.

Edit: Hmn, the Diplomacy mod made wives a lot more interesting, in my opinion.

Probably best to let them go, you get relationship bonuses with each lady you allow to flee.  I keep forgetting to check the castle when I take enemy castles, so I'd never tried forcing them to stay.

Not as of 1.113 (and I was not playing long before it came out). The only options you get are ransom or release.
I don't recall ever getting a ransom for any of them either, but then I don't want the honor hit so I let them go anyway.
Maybe someday I will try the dishonorable side (hopefully by then they fix it so you can get paid)

It is funny in the same way that murder, looting, and pillaging is funny - in other words, not really funny at all but very appropriate to the period and actions already simulated and arguably needed in a subdued form (forced marriage) as an option in the marriage game.

Actually I was refering to CP391's series of pictures above but yeah, once again Pete sums up pretty well how I feel in general.

Think about it though, most of the **** that we all find funny is only funny when it happens to someone else. So yeah, rape is about as funny as anything else, provided you or someone you know isn't the one getting raped.
