Don't know if this wasn't already discussed, but it would be cool if you capture some famous knight/noble/commander in battle and you could return him to his family/faction for huge ransom (not just for 100 in slave market).

I guess it's planned because otherwise there wouldn't be different 'kinds' of slaves (it wouldn't be as complicated solely because of the quests). I think a peasant should be cheaper then, say, a veteran or a nobleman or a female peasant.

I agree. Except maybe the last part. But having a different value for each type of troop is a little too much. Have classes, like 1st tier=x denar, 4th tier cav=y denars, etc.

"You there, vaegir pig! ive captured this count chappie of yours!! Give us 50,000 denars, or ill let some daylight into his skull!!"

"HAH, you call that fat hog a count, i could swear that Borcha with pillows onder his jacket!!!"

"Uh..uh...NONONO, its the real count, send the money down or we'll just have to gut him!"

Hah, have fun, i for one will enjoy watching you kill one of yer own men"

it would rule if you could try to fake it too

It kind of makes sense that you get the same price for anyone you sell into slavery in spite of their former status. After all, they're all going to the same place -- the salt mines or the oars -- so why should the slaver pay more just because someone being sold to him has an interesting pedigree?

If we could ransom them, on the other hand, then it would make sense to get more for the high-tier soldiers and what have you. I'd say that should be one of the options when you ride into an enemy town and talk to the local lord. "Hey, I got ten of your knights here. What'll you pay me to not sell them as slaves?"

The price of slaves should be more if they are in good shape, if the slaves in good shape they can do more work then one thats not.

I think it would be more realistic if there were varied prices on the slaves you sell. yes it may seem they all go to the same place.(salt mines) but i for one feel that there would be some ransoming to family members or nobals for sons and or daughters in the army, there by making it more profitable to by them from you. and of course if your slaves are pesants they may not be as hearty and probably not worth as much.

1. pesants refugees and such worth maybe 10 to 50 denars
2. farmers (they work hard any way) and low lvl troops 50 to 100 denars
3. mid lvl troops 100 to 200 denars
4. high end troops 200 denars
5. the nobles (sell them out from under your king or count  ) 1000 to 5000 denars randomized with a 10% chance to get 0 and a visit from the opposing war party!!!

any way its just an idea :D

Its been suggested before, just like in old times knights could capture each other and then hold the defeated knight in a dungeon until they get payed, but without even a place to keep your captives it just wouldn't work. So I want a Tower of Great Peril as my home and yet my peasants will love me because I'm kind and just.

arent you rich enough?? what you gona do with that gold? give it to poor??? make a golden horse or something?

The ransom idea is good

Take a Noble to his king and demand money for him, the enemy king should not automaticly say yes again you can base the likelyhood on persuasion technique

but i think it would be damn cool if you could hold Nobles in your castle like a normal prisoner till he escapes or gets broken out
lets say that holding them in a castle increases likely hood of said castle being attacked

only if you have a large force, because after all, if you just turn up with just borcha, marnid, ymria, rolf and a few swadian militia, king gareth would probably order those large number of crossbows to let rip
