Ranked/Unranked

Hi everyone!

I am sure that I,m not the only one who thought about this but, I'm kinda tired to lose my equipements every time I quit a game. It would be REALLY interesting and agreable to have some "Ranked" servers where the characters' equipements are saved. Althought, it would be important to raise a lot the price of everything OR reduce a lot the cash gained by killing people and accomplishing objectives.

What do you think about it??

Interesting idea, there would have to be a much wider range of equipment too.
Maybe even leveling? Though that might make it too irritating for new players.

Yes, I thought too about the larger varieties of equipements. Altought they need to create them with new and better textures than Mount & Blade 1.011

...If "Ranked/Unranked" will added as an option of setting server it should be a good idea...

ciauz^^,

I don't like it as eventually you'll just see a metric **** ton of people walking around in all of the best armors and weapons. The current system provides a more balanced and realistic scenario where you have a larger number of troops poorly armed and a few well armed soldiers. If it is a server option than maybe, but I have a feeling most servers would have it on.

I don't know. For many players, the dream set of equipment that they would like to save is not the heaviest armor and best weapon. I see a lot of players playing with basic or medium armor and their personal favourite weapons, although they should be able to afford the top equipment.

I guess, I personally have more fun when starting with the basic equipment everytime and slowly gaining the items I love. I never thought "****, my equipment is gone again. Wish I could save it."

But as long as not all the servers will have it - alright.

But if it was saved and cost say 3000 denars when you come in you'll have no money and only parts of the equipment

Yes, this is a problem but I have a "kinda" solution. You don't lose any money by getting killed. Althought, it's HARD to get money. Good idea?

I was actually thinking about this the other day and I came to the conclusion that for actual *gameplay* altering items it would be absurd. Like previously mentioned there would be a load of people running around in the best equipment, putting newbies at a disadvantage and ruining the joy of closing in on a juicy poorly armoured crossbowman...it would work with aesthetic stuff however, for instance ranks from conscript up to knight or lord were introduced and you were awarded cosmetic things such as your own heraldry.

I think it's stupid. I don't see any reason people who play a lot should be rewarded with in-game advantages in a game like this. If they have the capability to improve themselves, they will beat new players through superior skills.

Yes, I can choose to play on servers without ranking, but I'm not sure the community will be big enough to keep both modes at a healthy population.

Yes, that is a big problem with all those maybe-optional changes I think.

This I like.
