Everybody knows that there is a trainer in zendar who lets you fight 12 opponets to pass training and get some valuable experience, which generaly levels you up to level 2. Well, seeing as how this is only melee training, I think the archers are left out a little bit. Perhaps you could create an archery range, where you could go to shoot a few arrows or maybe talk to another trainer who lets you train with ranged weapons (bows, crossbows, and throwing weapons.) He would have simple tests like the melee trainer, where you have to kill enemies. But in these you are 1) outside, 2) have to kill with ranged weapons, and 3) have a huge stack. There could even be a mini-game, where you had to shoot targets (you know, the big red bulls-eye target thingies) and get enough bulls-eyes within a time limit or something. There could be 3 difficulties, each one with a target at a greater distance.

Personaly, seeing as how there is no form of archer training currently, I think this is a great idea.

It does seem pretty obvious to have an archer trainer... they could also add polearm training in there too...

You mean lances or simpler polearms like staffs? Because staffs are already in the normal melee training, and lance training would make no sense. As for the archer training, not a bad idea.

oh yea i forgot they had those staffs in there... i just havent done the training in awhile

I like it. It's both useful and (seemingly) simple to implement. It would be cool to have a target area for practice and for contests. One could shoot at various stationary targets from the standard bull's eye targets to cut-outs of various Caladrian animals.

I mention that because perhaps realistically creating lifelike animals as has been suggested may involve much more effort than the developer would like, but target "pop-ups" need not be animated or realistic.

It could even have some creature cut-out targets straight out of whatever Caladrian mythology consists of: dragons, phoenixes, sea creatures, etc. An unobtrusive way of allowing fantasy without actually diverting into a fantasy monster hunting game.

Maybe just have it be one of the arena games. You just shoot at moving targets and try to hit more than the A.I. opponents(while getting some exp for a successful hit of course).

it does seem obvious that we need an archery/ranged weapons trainer...

and no, it wouldn't be hard to implement

aye, Ingolifs! Lame sumpter horses for target practice! We dont need lame horses anyways!

The "arena game" you guys suggested isn't a... great idea. In the arena they typicaly (spelling?) went 1 on 1, 2 on 2, or some other thing like that. Oh, and um... one weird thing about the arena... When the NPC says "I have an opening on the blahblah team for a 2 vs 2 MELEE..." why are there archers? Archery is NOT melee... It makes me confusified.

Wouldn't it be good if...instead of all that rash pointiness...you could get arrows that had a lil ball on the end, to do bash damage...

Beat me with cabbage if I'm as crazy as a fish combing its hair with a peice of chewing-gum. Which I might be...

Err, bump?

Anyway, archery training is a must, the poll says so. Just not against sumpter horses. They own.

While we're at it, why not a riding training too? You would be "given" a horse, and would have to complete a track, with 8's and all that stuff. First alone, then against an opponent. This way all the training would be implemented.

Check out this thread. It's 4 threads below this one. Well, right now it is.

GonZ you're against all my ideas. Die. kkthxbai  j/k m8

Anyways.. -!?ARMAGAN?!- PLEASE!!! CHECK THIS POST!!! (We want Ranged Trainers because, except for Strange, we r teh sUx wit b0w!!!)

well, for range training you can just shoot ppl in zendar, theyy don't say a thing.

But the arrows don't stick into anything so you cannot see where they landed and they move too fast to see mid-flight. How can I tell if I am getting better if I cannot see how accurate I am?

Could we shoot prisoners? Theyre worth SFA when youve got 800k anyway.
Tie them to a tree and put an apple on their head like William Tell. As you improve you could put progressively smaller fruit on their noggins until you finish up with a raisin at fifty paces. Afterwards you could make a nutritious smoothie, once youve removed the bone fragments of course. They can break a tooth afterall.
