Random Skill Reductions?

Latest Warband Version.

I haven't fallen in battle or even taken any major hits yet my skills keep dropping, showing up in red on my character sheet. Is this supposed to happen? Why?

Equipment encumbrance from Custom Commander. Turn it off in camp -> mod options or such.

As well as skill reductions, my strength seems to randomly rise.

Do you have high polearm/crossbow proficiency? That's also part of Custom Commander.
