An extremely versatile material that can be formed in many different shapes, is resistant to weathering and can be reinforced with steel.

Also, design doesn't necessarily have to include anything more complex than the basics. Good design often consists of a few simple shapes anyway. Take Rationalism or the Bauhaus; their designs can be simple but stand the test of time. Vittorio Gregotti's work still functions well even decades later.

these are not brutalist, not made of concrete either. and 'squares and circles' is a quite broad description
