after installing patch 1.113 i started a new game and when i was roaming around with my char for trades i often stumble on weak bandit
after capturing the bandits i tried to sell them
price for looter: 32
price for Rhodok veteran spearman: 0 ?
when i reentered the tavern the prices changed to 162726312 (  ) but when i tried to sell them i still get 0 denarr

He's referring to the slave trader by the name of Ramun, and selling prisoners.

It used to be that Ramun was buying for 100 and ransom brokers acted as proxy so they gave only 50... not anymore though so the difference is none now. Oh and he also used to sit in Tihr in MB original all the time while now he is going around like all the brokers.

Yeah, I also noticed Ramun isn't actually paying for slaves anymore. The other ransom brokers are paying based on level (afaik) now, so it's an overall improvement. Just avoid Yalen til a new patch fixes it.

Ramun is broke yes I can confirm that as of yesterday, running v1.113 - I was wondering why i was "giving" my prisoners away.

Ramun is usually offering me 0 denar for prisoners.

"River pirate" gives me a mental image of a guy paddling down the river in a kayak, the front dipping under the water from the weight of the mini-cannon attached to it. He spies the target...fires!... and flips upside down from the recoil.

Or maybe they just use catapults from river banks. Catapult themselves onto river barges.
