Recruit
Tis a game made by Softnyx (made Gunbound, but this is nothing like it), and it is pretty fun. You choose from 6 different classes (Warrior, Blacksmith, Mage, Archer, Ninja), and each has a different playing style. I have a lvl 7 or 8 Warrior and 4 Ninja. From what I know Warriors are good armor and good damage, and a bit fast. Ninjas are pretty weak and dont have a lot of armor, but run like the Flash and their grip attacks (close range combos that do a lot of dmg) are powerful, and if you pump up their shuriken skill they can be quite annoying. Blacksmith are big and slow, but dish damage and stay alive (but are so freakin slow). Mages are weak and have low armor like Ninjas, but have a number of ranged attacks that own if you can master em. Archers are the pinnacle of cheapness. They're arrows stun you for a second when they hit you and they're quick so they run away a lot. Two archers can keep one guy stunned until he is dead which makes me furious, so I despise archers.

Anyways, there are a few game modes like Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Golem. Golem is interesting because the Red and Blue team both have a Golem and there is a Gold Golem in the middle of the map. Whatever player kills the Golden Golem gets a golden weapon and that weapon does a billion dmg to the enemy golem. Pretty much whoever gets the golden weapon you have to protect or kill.

It is free, but you can buy these powercards or something (pretty lame) that benefit your character by giving extra exp, gold, and more time in chaos form. Oh right, chaos form. When you kill 6 people you are able to go in chaos form. This is an uber form that lasts for like a minute. You get a whole new set of attacks, and do like 5x more dmg, and most people run away from you if you toggle it

Overall it is a fun game, but can get annoying at times, and the fact you dont learn any new skills kinda sucks, but there are plenty to master, so I wont be bored for awhile. My warriors name is Jaekon, but I cant play this week

www.rakion.net is the site, try to get Server 1 Launcher because I'm not sure if Server 2 Launcher can play with Server 1. There are a few automatic updates that fixed this huge hacker bug that more than half of people playing were using, so the game is back to normal.

On a last note, a lot of servers are iffy. They say "your connection speed is too slow with one or more people in the room" when trying to join a room, which can get annoying, but there are plenty of rooms so you will find one eventually. If anyone ever wants to play next week I can teach you a few tricks. PM me for my AIM or Xfire if ya want

Waylander,

I don't mean to critique you, but you do realize that your post (to me, anyways) makes the game sound like a very un-fun experience.

Maybe it just came across that way ... yet with 'iffy servers', 50% of the people were hacking until this last update, and powercards (lame as you describe them) ... it sounds like a lot of 'not much fun' to me.

Sorry, but that is really the way that I took your post. The game sounds horrible to me.

Was it just the way you wrote it?

sounds like bog, real generic asian power-gaming online 'rpgs', the same as the last.

my friend used to be into this kind of crap, he'd get me an account and burn me the client and try to get me to play.

i'd connect.... i'd kill some small things with my crappy guy until he was a bit better and able to take on some things that got a bit better, until he got a bit better than before in order to take on some monsters that were a bit better than before, all the time finding some items a little bit better than the ones i had in the last valley of stupid goblins.
all the time while hiding from some 19 year old korean guy who had been playing for the last 4 weeks in order to build a cheap character in which to kill my puny character.

same 5-6 races/classes, same idea, same people playing them probably, arg.

what is the appeal? they're just boring! so much of the same **** over and over.

edit: btw if this game is nothing like that, read the first word in my post, 'SOUNDS', so this is what you have made the game sound like in your description, i'm sorry if that is untrue.

I'll give it a try since I got nothing better to do for this evening.. From what the website says its basically a team vs team battle, with each team consisting of up to 10 players, and the rest monster NPC's which the other team kills for EXP/items. Thats what I understand by what they said on website at least, gonna c what its like.. heh

EDIT: Ok tried it, and I declare this the MOST UNSTABLE game which I have ever come across. No offence to the developers or anyone else ::smile:

You probably won't like this then. Its a similar style of game. Its fun in the same way the old beat 'em ups were fun.
Only problem is there's no balancing. I've been playing with my level 2 Assassin on the GB server for a while. The only game running that I have access to has an average level of 6. Managed 5 kills though...

Well there are no more hackers now, none. It takes about 2 seconds to join a server, so you click a few and if you add it all up it only takes about 10-15 seconds to join a server that you play prolly for 15-20 minutes. These powercards are not that cheap, I havent really met anyone with one, well I cant tell, but I've been able to kill anyone I want just fine

There are a lot of combinations, and the grip attacks are a lot of fun to do (kinda look like the grab attacks from Soul Caliber). It looks pretty good, and for another korean game, it is different since it isnt like gunbound or gunz or anything. I havent really played anything like it before, prolly because I havent lived that long hehe, but it's fun to me.
