1) How do i defend recently conquered city? I can't just stand there during whole war and by themselves there only 130 troops. I have been away only a week! and the city was already taken by hostile faction.

2) We lost our king. Literally. When I ask either troops in his hall or his vassals the answer is "I don't know where he is" What happened to him and how can i find\rescue him?

1) If the city/castle is yours you can put a garrison there (troops). If its not then it will get a garrison over time. You will have to defend it regardless for some time, as the enemy will try to get it back.

If you are the king/marshal you can keep the army there to help.

2) Wait a few days/weeks. He may be captured and waiting to be delivered to a prison, or he lost a battle and it is not going back home to start recruiting a new army. Eventually the other vassals will know where he is.

Topic: Special Traits

1) How many lords do I need to get the Special Trait for keeping them in a dungeon?
The reason I ask this is because I just finally managed to get 5, and waited one full day and still haven't been given any special traits related to lords.
I imagine dungeons in castles count? I even have it upgraded.

Edit: I finally got it. You need 7 Lords in your dungeon for the Dungeon Master special trait.

2) What does the "Dungeon Master" special trait do for you exactly? (have 7 lords in your dungeon) I read somewhere that it makes capturing Lords easier, is that true? and if so, do we know by how much?

3) Has anyone found any other Special Traits other than the one where you gain relation with all Ladies and having lords in your dungeon?

Thanks in advance!

Casualties during siege battles are lower than during field battles. What's the logic behind this? I mean I can loose about 100 or more men wounded but only 3-5 dead, while on field it's more like if soldier is down he is rather dead than wounded.

Another quick question...

Does the game still start lowering your stats after a certain amount of days have gone by? If so, how many days? and is there a way to disable that? >_<

It starts happening after day 757.

I've not actually seen this happen but it was requested so to theoretically disable it backup menus.txt and find this:

Channge the -1 to 0. You should still get a message but the stat won't actually decrease.

What is the difference between Berserker  and Ulfhedinn?

During battles I noticed that berserker can be enraged or exhausted, ulfhedinn can lost control. Is that it?

you can find more about them using the Search Function (by topic should be fine). Note they are just for a minor bonus.

Casualties during siege battles

Same system is applied to siege and field battles. Its your responsibility as the commander to lead your men to victory with reduced causalities by keeping discipline, formation, using flanks, training and buying gear, etc

Sigurd Ragnarsson tends to become a christian. In second my game.  Do not care about him much, this is his personal choice. But he is a ward of his sister Ragnarsdottir. And where a proper norseman can seek bride now? Same thing with hersir Rognvald from Northumbria. Their daughter remains pagan and lords were pagan at game start too, i checked this in a new game then it happens again. And for this jerk i attacked a monastery!  So is this a glitch or intended?

lords may convert. Its a low random chance. WAI. Remember you have other kingdoms with pagan lords to look for girls. And you can also force (torture) a lord to get his permission.

Is it possible to survive after head shot by throwing spear at all?
Let us say, 27p damage, 3 power throw, 57 head armor (hersir helmet reinforced), 16 strength (67 hp). 0% spead bonus. Someone able do that math? 75 hp and ~71 head armor with huscarl bear armor bonus will help better?

Tried no fall game, but get my spear in face on 3 january

More cows - more butter? Or butter probability doesn't depends on cow's quantity? If you know, tell me please.

this question was already answered (among many others). What you need to do is look at the right top side of the website for the search function, choose "this topic" to only look for posts in here and voilá... pages and pages of history for you to "google" for content

that means:
1) search old answers first
2) ask new ones if you can't find a good answer

two questions:
what happened to the morale boost for having 30 women in party?
Why does the prosperity pop from castle breweries scroll by in the log but smithy's never do?
I can find neither Smithy or women boosts in module_scripts.py btw...

With hardcore budget options troops upgrade cost reduced to 1/2 end equal to beginner budget mode (rekkr-> huscarl costs 700p on hadcore and beginner and 1400 on normal). So is it intended so or no? Wages equal on hardcore and normal. What hardcore about?
