Quick Questions - Quick Answers Thread

It's been a while since I stopped keeping up with VC. I was waiting for the relase of the source codes for mods.

I was long waiting for Diplomacy to be integrated with VC. I tried searching the forums but I didn't find anything.

Did no one really bothered with it? Or did I overlook it?

I can be attacked when I rest inside refuge, is this a bug? I mean the description says "allow to rest away from the dangers"

build it away from travel routes, so you won't be in the way of a enemy lord or bandits, and you will be safe. Otherwise you can find yourself in trouble while sleeping after drinking too much mead

My favourite spots are little islands, but you can also look for places around mountains or far from major centers.

Why can't seaxes parry attacks? I'm curious with this, was it because of its size, or what?
I imagine that a blade that short and with no hilt isn´t exactly ideal to parry.
chamber block ftw!

actually is the ruin of this game

I suppose you just couldn't time it right. You can chamber block even with fists.
Unless they changed in VC lol

What's this? An exploit? Because the item says the weapon doesn't block.

Also, why can't it block? Suppose I have 250 One handed weapons, I'm a legend in close quarter combat, and still I can't block a staff thrust by a peasant? Analysing in Roleplay terms, it is unsatisfactory. From a threshold upwards blocks should be doable with seaxs. Or no, History shows that seaxs couldn't block ****?

By parry, I guess you mean block. In M&B, small weapons usually have the "can't be used to block" trait, preventing them from blocking attacks. There's also something called chamber attack. To do it you must attack the same direction the enemy's attacking at the same time. Thrusting and swinging down(from up, I don't know how to really say that in English) count as the same direction.
With chamber block you can block anything with anything. Including blocking unblockable things with things that can't block. For example you can block a couched lance(unblockable) with your fists(can't block).

Will Kingdoms attacked across water? Like I'm playing in West Sax, and they are at war with Friese, but I don't see any of the lords or marshall attached across the straight?

Yes, they will. But kingdoms that are further away from each other tend to end up fighting less often.

Friese is a exception. It's mostly passive, so don't expect they to act like the other 20 factions.

Yeah I just saw the first Friese lord in Wessex. How do they do it exactly, do they get in boats, or is it a AI cheat.

So far our marshall has called two campaigns and just chilled out in the castle for a few days and then broke the campaign up lol.

On a side note, any way to mod out companions leaving. I saw the "stay or else option" but it seems I could only use it once.

Is there a world map featuring all towns? Or at least the biggest towns? I'm struggling to know all places, and I feel it's an important thing.

Not that I know of. Remember you can look a location up using the list in the notes section, then click "show on map" (or something to that effect).
