hey, i just purchased a serial code, and i noticed you were required to put in a phone number. They don't sell the phone number to companies for telemarketing do they? Why do they require a phone number?

They, who? Who requires your telephone number? It has been a while since I bought mine ... but I don't recall anyone asking for it, where it would seem conspicuous.

Maybe for identification verification?

I think I remeber having to give a bunch of info when I got mine (back in June) but I havent gotten any spam or telemarketers so I don't think there's any thing to worry about.
