Quests And Experience Points

It seems to me experience points for successful missions like caravan escort duty and rescue the kidnapped debutante are allocated as follows:

If your hero receives 1000 experience points for a mission, Borcha and Marnid each receive 500 points. The onscreen text says experience points are shared among your party but how much the ordinary troops each get is not clear to me(although apparently they do get some points, because the "some troops are ready to upgrade" text comes up after and this is not only due to their battle kills).

The number of points is determined by the difficulty of the mission and that difficulty seems to be a factor of the distance between city A and city B.

(The rewarding of XP after a battle was a little mysterious for me before: we get XP per kill/knock unconscious but then after the battle a message would appear "You get xx points and your party shares" which was not then entirely clear to me how it was divided.)

Anyway, so what? Only that you should always have M&B in your party when showing up to claim your reward - they need the XP. And kidnap missions are a piece of cake.

I don't kidnap people, but I should. Anyway, that's what I call those save the girl ransom missions.

(That was one of my suggestions - be allowed to kidnap someone for ransom- that disappeared without a trace, no replies and few "views")

The idea was to have the occasional opportunity to attack and capture an official with the differences from a regular battle being:

1. Capture the offical alive (of course)
2. Instead of both sides "beaming" down and racing toward each other, the defenders would appear in a column formation and protect the official who could either be relatively immobile or attempting to race off the field.
3. Variations: attacking farmhouse for official, official fights back, official attempts to escape, fighting rescue of captive hero.
4. Generally, these being our own quests and not assignments.

I'm hijacking my own thread! This is about XP and how they're allocated!

Since joining the Vaegir side, I've been attacking Swadians whenever I can. My troops have defeated a few of their war parties, and we liberate any captured Vaegirs we see.

My relationship with Swadians is pretty low.

So now, taking on a kidnapped girl mission deep into Swadian territory is far riskier than before. We fight our way in, and fight our way out.

Killing Swadian knights is as much fun as killing black knights

But anyway, the "territory" aspect of the mission should weigh heavier than the distance. Why is distance important? It's not a timed mission.

I could've sworn that I read somewhere that the PC gets 10 shares of XP, NPC heroes get 5 shares, and other NPCs get 1 share. Or maybe it was 20/10/1.

I heard it was 10/7/1.

I do think it should be difficult to penetrate into the enemy territory.

One thing, i think the world map should be made much bigger, and there be small towns or 'hamlets' in between these big towns. Each town has its own amount of land, and you have scouts and patrols roaming around in that land. Only raiding parties, war parties and siege parties ( if you are ever eventually able to besiege a town in this game) should be the only ones which actively cross borders to fight the enemy. Patrols, prisoner trains and foragers would just stay within their own borders.

I also think if you're hated enough, a patrol or war party should come out of a town whenever you get too near. If you have business in Sargoth, you'll have to get past 100 troops in order to do so.

It is 10 for you, 7 for NPC's, and 1 for each of your dudes or so says armagan.

And YES it should be much harder to get things done once you have built a reputation for yourself as a master killer of the vaegirs/swadians. I don't think that the map needs to be bigger it just needs more stuff.

I would really like to see the map scenery to be randomly generated but, you already know this.
