Recruit
I have been playing for a few days now, and I am totally addicted.

I actually found out about this game through the Darkfall online forums, and they said the game would have a combat system like this, so I wanted to try it out.

I am the type of person who likes to just jump right into games, and not really read instruction booklets and stuff, and it usually works well. Well, with this game, I didnt have a choice, since there is no instruction booklet.

I have been doing pretty well in the game, but I would like some things cleared up, to make my experience a little more enjoyable.

I am currently a level 25 priest, with high cha/int, and most of my skills geared towards leading a large warband, and little emphasis on my individual characters fighting prowess.

The questions I have, are...

--How do I decide which troops get sent into combat? Does the computer just randomly generate it? I notice when I have my Vaegir Knights in the top slot, they will generally be first into battle with me, with a couple horsemen or marksmen sprinkled in.
How do I say I want to have 10 knights, and 10 marksmen, instead of 18 knights at 2 marksmen? Does moving troop types up/down actually do anything, or is that for organization?

--What does that 'battle advantage' thing even mean? I'm talking about the thing we get the tactics skill for.

--Is it a glitch/exploit to be able to have Swadian Sharpshooters(which kick major ass by the way) in a Vaegir army? (You can rescue them from bandits) Or is this intended?

--Is there any difference between the foods? Do they effect morale, or last longer than other types?

--What effect does starving/low morale have on troops?

--Why is it that when I click [Order your troops into battle, while you stay back.] That I lose way more troops than if I were to go in myself. For example, I'll send them in because I dont feel like slaying River Pirates for 10 minutes, and I find out my warband of 61 has been reduced to 55 because the group of 20 river pirates (and wtf is a river pirate anyway?) slayed 6 of my knights. But if I were to ride along with my knights, not a single one of them would get hurt, even if i stand there and do nothing.

Any help with these questions is greatly appreciated, and I am sure I will have some more as I play. Thanks in advance!

As you guessed, this one is random altought the system prefers the troops on top of the list

You'll have 1 unit more/battle advantage point than the enemy at the start of combat

I'd say its intended considering the fact that people have known about it since day one, I recon you can even recruit enemy troops at inns

My knowledge on this is rumors so I'll leave this alone

--What effect does starving/low morale have on troops?
It reduces their worldmap speed and I recon they desert when they starve long enough

Its the same way in most other games too, the battle goes to hell when you're not around, think of it as your troops being born without any sense of initiative
