My roommate and I got this game yesterday, and the only thing we really want to know is...how do you run?? We were practicing in the tournament and when on foot we walked around as everyone else ran. Is that normal, or can we run too?

well in all realistic standing, it would be hard to run in full chainmail armour and helmet carrying a sheild and spear. Unless you wern't a nerd and you were a 200 pound buff man who would bench press 30 washer women, which back then, you just might be.

You can't choose between run/walk like in Quake or Counter-Strike. You always move at your fastest speed, that is determined by the weight that you are carrying (armor seems to affect it the most) and your athletics skill. The people in the arena that you've seen running are probably Kradus and/or Xerina. They are both heroes (non-hirable) that have high athletics. Xerina has an 8 if I'm correct. Kradus has a 6 or 7 and is level 42.

Thats not true, Ingolifs.

You can ZOOOOOOOOOOOOOm!!!!11oneonetwo1!!!11

Ahem. Yeah. Useful for bows.

My top character has a huge athletics skill. When my horse goes down, he can practically sprint in reinforced black armour, a thick black helmet, reinforced black greaves, and the heaviest weapons. 8)

One of my favourite characters has an athletics skill of 8, a balanced sword of war and no armor. That guy's faster than a bullet and twice as deadly. It's bloody ridiculous, while playing this character I can outrun the slower horses and dodge arrows at point blank range, all the while swinging my blade of death and killing foes left and right with my lightning-fast strokes. I feel that he should be able to perform couched lance attacks.

:D That'd be a sight to see. Hahaha...
Somehow reminds of that Monthy Python movie, what was it called? Holy Grail something... where they run around acting like they are on horses.

Yes, the Holy Grail, the best part is when they dismount from the imaginary horses and Chancy stops whacking the coconut shells together.

Johnathan Strange doesn't run from danger.

He walks...very fast.

ok, but... the horse really helps him (as seen on picture)

PS: still, the horse also seems cool about it.

:D
