Question on Game Modes

so i joined a battle server expecting player v player

i get commander battles

is the mod essentially based solely on players and the bots they control? or are there actual legit battle servers for the mod?

There are legit pvp battle servers.

The 50 player slot battle servers are NPC commander battles.
