Question : Caravan Outposts

Well, it's been a while since I came here and Jinnai and TheMercernary have been really busy 

On to the topic at hand :

If I build a Caravan Outpost in my town, will it provide added escorts only to caravans from my faction or to any visiting caravan from another faction?

It will provide escorts to any caravan that only has a caravan master and caravan guards in it.  Which is probably going to be just your caravans, seeing as how caravans from other factions are sent out with units from that faction when they are created.

I understand what it does, but what is the benefit to me?  Does the caravan bring money back at the end of its trip?

Successful caravans increase the prosperity of your cities, hence more taxes.

 

[Jinnai]

Prosperity also directly affects how fast towns and castles recruit new troops.
