Question about WWII: Chinese battlefield

I got version one and been playing it for about 2 days now, I thought maybe you took the weapons merchant out and made us get our guns, but i've been playing for 2 days now and the best gun I have is a colt, is their a weapon to get better weapons, because ive seen people ive recruited with tommy guns and type 11 machine guns, I looked everywhere.

So is their a way to buy or earn better guns, or just loot ?

To get better guns you gotta goto a city and click Wander Around or something and walk around till you find the gun merchant, you'll most likey have to bribe him.
