Question about World Map GFX

I've been playing Floris mod for a good 85hours now, and would like something new, this mod looks incredible.

However one thing that my picky pickyness has picked up on is the world map, is it all native graphics? Is there anyway to make it look easier on the eyes? Is this compatible with whatever mod has improved textures?
