question about wolfbode, etc

So i just defeated this guy, but i couldn't capture him ( i really need the gem), there was no message about him escaping or anything, so im asking whats going on?

Did you start the battle? What was his health before the battle?

If you didn't start the battle you won't have the chance the capture him.

there is chance to capture him, even if you didnt start the battle, but his health must sufficiently high for him to spawn on the battle field when you first enter the fight.

I was alone against him, and i took him down myself, i saw the casualty log.

Did you autoresolve or was it the typical rush in to smack him in the face with a lance in real time sort of thing?

i had 220'ish of the best cavalary u can imagine (ok not the best, not 1 single knight in it) but those ravenstern horse archers are quite deadly, especially vs low armored gangs like wolfbode's + Adventurers and other merc cavalry


anyway, i never autocalc any battle...

he had 600'ish so it took me around 5 battles to win the "war", he was down in the 1st battle, duuno if it has any influence, it shouldn't imho, since he is a "lord" right?

Well yeah, if it was just you vs. him you should have at least got a message after the battle that said he escaped or something. It isn't a pop-up message, well I don't think it is, so it might be easy to miss.

What does it say on your victory conditions screen?

Lords can escape sometimes, so can specialty spawn leaders, they weren't meant to be caught ALL the time.

Yeh but considering the heavy losses and the amound of army he bring one would think you can capture him every time, kinnda the only way to get a gem... 

Anyway, no message appeared saying he had escaped...

If it's meant for him to escape then its kinnda dissapointing for my first battle against such a horde to be a complete loss (lost a lot of hard to train cavalry) ...

Chance of capping lords/heros is based on prisoner management skill levels.

That´s something I always forget. The base chance for capturing should be 40% after battle. 1 points spent on prisoner mangagment increases the likelyhood of not escaping or capturing by 5%? I could do a search but I´m too lazy for it. I must write it down somewhere to keep it handy for such occassions.

The dissapearing message should be in your gamelog but if you didn´t capture him and you joined the battle alone without any allies, he got off.

Well i continued playing so i'll be more careful next time, but im quite sure no message appeared, oh well off to kill matise (or at least let the empire deal with most of them  )

Well if he still exists and isn't dead then he should be on your victory conditions page and will reappear later on for another shot at capturing him.

He probly turned invisible and stayed in one spot, thus not getting a message saying he escaped for he is still in that one spot...waiting...to return once again...  just being funny
