Question about texturing

Hello all,

I have been modeling two helmets in 3Ds Max but was unsuceful to texture it, as i don't know what is exactly the metod to do so. Could someone please share acnolege (wow don't know wrinting this word) and say how do i texture a helmet... and consequently an armor?

Thanks... read it... try it... but not quite... maybe a UVw map of an helmet is diferent, dunno... Will keep trying... if someone suggest something i'd apreciate it

EDIT: What it's the UVW Map Add modifier for??

EDIT: the tutorial did not help me :S... well i saw an image on the first suggest tutorial of an uvw mapped helmet... and that's kind of exactly what i want... something like that
 
wow... didn't remember that :S

but continuing... the question is uvw map on 3Ds Max... because i used wings once and uvw was not that hard :S

EDIT: finally managed to UVW Map my mesh... now is texturing that's the problem... the images i try to put get too pixelate
