So I am playing latest Warband with Floris Expanded mod.
I am complete new to this game, but thanks to many FAQ and guides, I am doing and enjoying quite well.
How could such a brilliant game slip through my radar for so many years?

But now I have a problem.
I am trying my first siege.
I did the following:
Besiege castle - > entrench your camp->build ladders->ask the commander to surrender->assault
So far so good.
My archers killed off some defenders on the walls.
Now i want to climb the walls, but there are no ladders?
When I order my infantry and dismounted to charge, they all run half around the castle and try to enter the front gate tower and get wiped out...

Is there a "special" order to make the ladders visible?
If i read through the guides correctly, the ladders should be there from the beginning...

It really depend wich castle you're assaulting. Floris mod overhauled most of them. In some of them, like Senuzgda or Reyvadyn, you don't use ladders or siege tower, you pass the front door and make your way past the defense.

So you mean it is WAD that besides it said "build ladders" I don't use them but rush to the front gate?
The front gate is closed and my men try to enter the gate tower...

yea. This look like Senuzgda castle.

You spawn before a bridge, then there is a front door open but the defense put barricades there so you go by stairs up in the tower. The defense is gathered just upstair, so they kill your guys easy because they are like queuing when they climb the stairs.

My offense tactic here is to order archer and cavalry to stay on their ground, then order infantery to get closerX4.
Then i order them to go two hander, because they must break the defense quickly or they will be slaughtered by the ranged while stuck in the stairs.

Another tactic i found recently is to be outnumbered, and the defender will eventually order its troup to charge, so you just wait outside and decimate them.

It is Tilbaut castle...

My army starts at one corner of the castle.
The archers can shoot 10-15 defender from the wall, then there is no one left on the walls.

A charge order brings the troops about a half around the castle to the front gate. (where the whole enemy is massing in the tower)
There seems to be no way to break the defense quick, because it takes about 7-8 minutes to walk around the castle to the front gate...

Wait outside with "Archers of Death" to kill the sally force is kinda cheat isn't it?

I really don't get why they want to assault the front gate. There is plenty of wall at the backside and the other side of the castle you could climb with a ladder.

I beg for your help...

Why? They usually won't charge outside. In fact i saw that happen only once, may be they felt so confident because i went there out numbered.

I don't remember Tilbaut castle scene, or may be never fought there yet... sorry.

You can still order your troops to go to a specific spot by holding  F1, then when they are there order to charge, they should take the shortest way... dunno.

Edit: or may be if you got good shielding, order your infantry to get closer, and then to follow you, they will be close enough so you will be still in the pack (not alone leading them).

1. defenders only sally when they significantly outnumber the attackers. as farmers will do on village raids if you have under 27 in your party.

2. on Tibault custom castle, immediately have everyone hold their fire, place them outside of the wall where the entry gate is, and have them shoot down the defenders on the wall..

defense numbers should start Attacker: 35 - Defenders 45 +/-

The defenders will get a new reinforcement at about 15-20 troops remaining. They have to run from all the way across the other map of the keep, down through the town, and up through another set of tower stairs. So realistically your objective is to shoot down as many defenders as you can from outside, and move your infantry in to meet them in between their numbrs.

Your next goal should go something like this.

have your infantry hold the bottom of tower 2, while your archers hold the wall in between tower 2 and tower 1.  this way the attacking infantry will have their backs exposed, while your infantry is safely bottle necked from a full on assault.

There will be a significant time span in between each wave of enemies, so be mindful to have your archers hold their fire, when the infantry can clean up the remainder at the bottom of tower 2. This allows for concentrated diminishment of the enemies major forces.

If your infantry is to fall apart, reset your archers to the highest top of tower 1, while your infantry can set at the door into tower 1, giving you the same advantage as previously allowed for in tower 2.

it is very important to be mindful to have reinforcements hold their fire, so they can get topside as soon as possible.
