Question about Minor Factions.

Hello, i've got another question. Will minor factions such as the Company of the Golden Boar be able to rise into major factions and eventually start taking villages, castles and towns? Could they rise and conquer the map? That'd be amazing if they could rival large kingdoms such as Vlandia.

I doubt that the objectives of minor factions are territorial. In Warband, factions without territory were eliminated. If that mechanic persists in Bannerlord, minor factions would need to be excluded from it or they would die out too soon. Published information about minor factions suggests they are each a dedicated enemy to a particular major faction (guarantees war during peacetime) and some/all are available for hire as mercenaries. While they fight major factions, I doubt they act like them.

Ah that's a shame but understandable, thanks

... eventually start taking villages, castles and towns? ...

Based on the design of the map, it looks like you conquer the castle or town to capture the entire province. If you look at the map there are zero provinces with both a castle and a town. None. Awarding villages separate from their controlling entity will hopefully be a thing of the past. If it doesn't work this way then the clearly defined province borders would be meaningless.

+1 on that. Especially since in Warband castle prosperity was tied to villages.

Makes sense, though I did hear a rumor a while back that playing as a bandit, you could take over a village. Or was that a feature request...? It might've been a suggestion. Given that villages were quite isolated in the middle ages, it makes plenty of sense to me that taking a city or a castle would also put the villages under your control. All the actual bureaucracy emanates from such places.

Although... If it does remain... Perhaps it's a sign of a peerage system? Perhaps it's possible to own a village in subject to the lord who owns the province castle, who in turn is subject to the monarch?
