quest bugged: kill looters, find bandit hideout

Those two quests, kills looter (3 groups to kill, given at random from guildmasters), and destroy bandit hideout (given by AI lords) are bugged and uncompletable if another party actually kill your mob/lair.

I checked this with the cheat "True Sight" to be sure that those looters parties (created with the quest) and hideout arent on the map anymore.

Since you have to kill 3 groups of looters and there is only 3 groups spawned, if an AI lord kills "your" looters, you wont be able to complete the quest, since they wont (or at least it seems that they dont) respawn on the map. Therefore making the completion of the quest bugged.

Same for bandit hideout (altough not being sure if you have really to let one bandit escape to its lair, wich is pretty hard to achieve in practise since enemies dies (arent knocked uncousious) by either you or your troops. I know you can tell the to use only "blunt" weapons order, but i want them safe and alive to escape to the lair...
 
The "parties killed by another faction" has been around since M&B. You could try raising it as a bug, but tbh I'm not sure if it's an actual bug or whether it's working as intended. As in, you need to be quick to take out those parties before someone else does.

For the bandit hideout I believe you need to make the bandits rout. It's generally best to order your men to hold ground a little way back from the engagement and if you have archers tell them to hold fire as soon as the bandit numbers drop. As soon as they start running for the edge of the map you can back off and let them run.

Thanks for the reply. Catching them is pretty hard since they run away from both AI lords and my party, and i'm running currently an infantry heavy setup (i'm preparing my future siege troops). Morale is good, but not enough to catch them "quickly".

What i meant it is a bug, its that the GM should tell us that another party actually killed the remaining looters (thus lowering the reward, same when you didnt bring all the serfs back to the village for an AI lord), so you could finish the quest and not wait until it fails, therefore "occupying" a quest slot for nothing (since it seems that we cant get more than a few quests for each "kind" of questgivers).

As for making them running, i shall try it... if i catch a bandit group, since those who i have to chase are half mounted half foot so faster than my party... :s
 
Yeah, going pure infantry is a *****. Unless it's the cattle quest anyway :lol:

If you're slow it may just be the group has vanished over the hills and far away. You could try turning on the cheats and using the FoW cheat (Ctrl + T IIRC) to see if they're actually gone or if they've just managed to cross half the length of Calradia.
 
Well altough i despise cheating, i found myself no choice but to use the ctrl + left click cheat (teleport) when i have to do such quest with groups faster than mine. I find that the cheat for seeing the whole map is overkill (and thats not what i'm looking for), and it seems that once you trigger it, you cant "cancel" it. But, as stated above, i avoid cheating, game would be way too easy if so.

I'm working on morale too, but since i started a new game from scratch for warband, it is still "average".

Edit: My character is a fighting (mounted) merchant/politician. So i work hard to improve my reputations in all major cities, so i often have to kill those pesky bandits :smile:
