Well, if you want to pitch in Trooper that will be nice.

I could also use the ork stuff.

Anyway, I got all the Imperial guard stuff that Gwalchmai sent me in game.

I rigging the armor at the moment, so screen shots will follow soon (hopfully)

what other teams need doing?
we have models for imperial guard and starting eldar and tau
if trooper gives us the orc stuff... (please!!!!!!)
do we need chaos? do we need more imperial or orc? if not i will stay with modelling eldar + tau

also i just realised i can texture i was just being novice like
QuailLover i will retexture the grenades

Edit: if you still need someone to texture.... i will!

Orks would need helmets. The Lootas have very distinct helmets with hilarious and crude iron crosshairs, and Boyz are known for their German WWI inspired helmets.

Give them a head as a helmet. Problem is you won't be able to use real helmets, but the Orks aren't really famous for their abundance of helmets.
I dont get it. Or then Nema has confused me again, but We can have them wear helmets and have hair just like normal people. :???:

Yes, but... alright, I'll explain:

Normally, a helmet is just added on as a normal mesh onto the head model of a normal human. However, since the Ork 'head' is actually recognized as a helmet by the game, you will need to take the original Ork head, put a new helmet form on top of it, and then save it as a helmet... it takes a bit more effort, but shouldn't be an issue if you have only 5-6 Ork helmets.

I'm wondering why you didn't mention the fact that this is what you did in "Chronicles of Talera" for the Ferons, which do kinda look like Orks.
"Chronicles of Talera" can be found here for those interested in taking a look:

Aye, we did that. And thanks for the free advertisement .

I am unfortunately crap at moddeling,Texturing,Codding and rigging but I am learning
Is there anything left for me to do?
I did make a power spear thingy
i'll work on thishttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v102/Xuilress/40k/Inquisitor/PowerSword/PowerSword21_Rotated.jpg
I could also find scources make up story lines testing and map work.

Ok, i got it, just wasnt sure what you meant.

Greatsword:

Think you design troop trees and get them ingame and send them to me?

I could also use some tau or eldar models.

Or if you want some texture practice, I have some un-textured models you could do.

Ig:
Conscript - Armsman - Guardsman - Sargeant - Karskin
                    - Rough Rider - (?)

Tau:
No idea

Eldar:
Eldar - Guardian - Dire Avengers - Fire Dargons (?)
                  - Howling Banshees

Eldar would probably be something along the lines of:

Guardian - Dire Avenger - Dark Reaper - Fire Dragon - Farseer (?)
        |    | - Ranger (?)
        | - Storm Guardian - Howling Banshee - Striking Scorpion - Warp Spider (?) - Harlequin - Warlock (?)

The question marks mean I'm not really sure about the placement of that particular unit in the tree.

I don't know a lot of specifics about Tau so I would probably **** up all the names and look like a douche, same with IG, though I  know more about them than Tau.

Orks would probably be something like:

Boy (randomly gets shoota or slugga/choppa) - Burna Boy - 'Ard Boy - Nob - 'Eavy Nob - Meganob - Warboss
                                                                  | - Big Shoota Boy - Loota - Flash Git - Big Mek
                                                                                            | - Kommando (?)

I would have thought that the Swooping Hawks, Fire Dragons, Dark Reapers, Howling Banshee's and Striking Scorpions would really be on the same level, seeing as they're all separate sects.

Maybe split it up into trees that specialise, so for example, a melee tree would end in a choice for either Howling Banshees or Striking Scorpions.

Or alternatively, have a main tree for guardian's, etc, then have specialist troops, Farseers, etc hirable through taverns/barracks through a hiring screen, or purchasable through dialogue.

Tau, only really have three main "infantry" units.

Firewarrior(pulse rifle), Pathfinders (pulse carbine), and the Drones.

Now the Drone probably wont make it in.

Veteran Firewarriors can become Tau Honorguard, I believe.

which Eldars are we speaking about?  these seem like dark eldars...

there were dark and good eldars
just thinking if we should impement magic aswell since Dark/Eldar and Chaos and Necrons used it
dont think i missed anyone out that uses magic?

and thinking about it it sounds weird if you said
"ive got the best orc army, I have 20 'eavy nobs!"
  see my point

I whould not see eldar troop tree even reaching farseer, harlequin or warlock. (they can be lords)

Same for Orks, stop at 'eavy nobz, and loota/flash git.

Sareth, it soound alright in my ears.

For tau, i whould suggest inserting kroot aswell.

@Quaillover
yeah I could probably do that.

I did a troop tree for guard in the last thread
I will look it up
but ill might need some help getting it ingame.

and could we possibly add bikes I am not really sure if you can alter the horse skeleton
I could use some texture practise.

they made speeder bikes in star wars mod and a dinosaur in one...
so it is totally possible to make bikes.
im just wondering how we are going to make a flamethrower
modelling one would be alright but actually making flame come out of it?
anyone have any ideas? I was thinking of magic mod fireball but making it constant/ longer...
but not travelling across the map

I have foung the troop tree I made
I will try to expand  it and get it in game (somehow?)
conscript>guardsman>veteran>sergent>vetean sergent>junior officer>senior officer
                                          >hardened veteran>rough rider>rough rider sergent
                                          >stormtrooper>storrmtrooper sergent
additional units:
>medic
>priest
>commisar
>psyker
>ogryn?
>ratling?

those marked with a ? i'm not sure if we can mod the skeletons.
Anything I misssed?

I would really like to help with the mod in some way, but I'm a just a 3D Animation student at my school (using 3dsMax 9) and I don't have any 3D program on my computer. I don't feel like pirating a copy, either.

I AM very good with ideas and envisioning, though, and I am quite knowledgeable with many aspects of Warhammer 40,000, especially the Tau.

For a real Warhammer 40,000 mod, we have to go off real Warhammer 40,000 and not just Dawn of War. Still, you're mostly correct. Fire Warriors mostly use the pulse rifle, while Pathfinders tend to use the pulse carbine.

Don't forget the mercenaries the Tau use. Kroot would be pretty easy to implement (and useful, so your whole army doesn't die once the enemy gets in melee range), while Vespids and the others simply wouldn't be worth the effort.

I could write up a Tau unit tree, but I doubt they'd be included in this mod anyway.

ShadowCreep, how good are you at textureing, or rigging?

Anyway write up a Tau Troop Tree, I'll take a look at it.

I've almost no experience at rigging, and I'd say only moderate skill at texturing, but honestly I'm not sure how exactly I stack up to others on these boards, so my adjectives may be incorrect.

Let's see here, Tau troop tree...

Note: Please, when you start up this mod, put in a way for the players to learn about Warhammer 40,000; it's much more engrossing when the player knows the armies, knows the universe, and so on, but especially for the weapons.

I've always found it annoying when I have to find out what a weapon is through usage, and being unable to learn about it beforehand, in Mount & Blade mods. The player should get information on what a lasgun is, how strong it is relative to other weapons and aliens, a small bit of fluff about it, and so on. It adds to the immersion and helps to ease a player in.
