QQ, Noooo!!! (corrupted save file)

So it looks like my save file got corrupted. My other files load fine my my current main game just crashes the game now when it loads.

Am I SOL or does someone know of a trick that might be able to save it?

Run the latest patch, there was an issue where long games would crash after a while but it was fixed with I believe 1.127 a while ago.  Other than that, see if your system auto-backed up that save game file recently.  Restoring a previous version of the file can sometimes fix it.

It wasn't a long game, I think 320 days. Just started a few days ago after my old game got me in a rebellious stalemate. Also, none of my saved files have transferred over patches since I bought the game the day the current patch came out. However, it may be caused by diplomacy mod, my only alteration to the game.

I'll try manually messing with the file and see it I can find anything, thanks.

Yeah, looks like I'm SOL. Oh well, now I get to try out my longbowmen only game.
