I leave lancing to Sir Roland and Sir Rayne and whatever other knights I have, and prefer to use sword and the Knight's Axe from horseback.  I detest the new Warband sword from horseback animations!

Hello mr48,

Thank you for the offer and I think this is a great idea and one that we will be pursuing.

M0rdred and others of the Development team are creating a solid “Framework” of information and then we will then open it up, with some editorial help, to the players like yourself to fill in.

There is a great deal of information that resides on the Development Forum that is not available here on the TW community forum, not directly found in the game, and not in the literature we released.

The trick is how to edit and bring forth the concepts, tales, histories, rationale from that “working form” into a form that the average player can reference in a way that is meaningful.

Once we have that in place.. then expect it to be open.

Best,

Saxondragon

Sounds awesome, really looking forward to PoP 3.0!

And yeah I really don't like Warband's mounted animations, but I mostly bought it to future-proof myself for all the mods sure to come (hopefully including PoP) that may well fix everything thats wrong with it at the moment.  For $15 I figured what the hell. $30 seemed a bit steep for something I don't even intend to play until I see some good mods.

Sorry to stay off topic but those of you who got Warband through Steam, do you have to use the steam client or can you use your authorization key that you receive from Steam to unlock the trial client that I downloaded from Tales World?

I know this is an odd question but I have found with Steam sometimes they are slow to get the latest patches. And in a few rare cases they never got a patch that was released and because the Steam client differs from the main client that you would have if you had bought the disc then you cannot manually patch your Steam version either.

I have the trial version of Warband now and I was not very impressed. Plus I had graphic issues where many objects were red, this included grass. I also did not like the idea of paying full price for what to me seemed like an expansion.  But I figure for $15 once it is all patched properly it would be worthwhile. That and I want to be able to play Warband only mods that will become more prevalent as time goes by.

As far as I know, the key from Steam will activate the downloaded trial version - that's what I did with vanilla M&B, and nothing has been changed that I'm aware of to make Warband activation any different.

regards,
TA

I confirm.

I've bought it by Steam.
If you do so, I suggest you to download the Steam version, so your key will be stored in your computer.
If you want to see your key without installing the steam version of WB, go to your "games" tab in steam and right-click on WB then click on "view serial key" or something like that.

Keep this version as a "pure"/unmodded copy.

Then, you can download and install as many "retail" versions as you desire, that you can mod as you like.
You can install different versions in different folders (1.113 + 1.125, etc.), as some mods aren't always compatible with the latest version.

At each installation, you will automatically have the "full" version of WB, the key won't be asked you, as it's already stored in your computer.

By the way, until now, Warband updates by Steam are incredibly fast.

Sorry for being off-topic. Huge thanks to the PoP team for all the work you have already done (and keep doing) for us. I look forward to be able to put my hands on this v.3 of this monumental mod.

Hello Folks,

We are in the home stretch of development and we have been working through some tough technical issues that made this release unplayable.

While we resolved the problems, at the expense of some artwork, it ate up more time that we expected and it will push final release by about two weeks.

Our goal, while likely unrealistic we still embrace it, is to deliver a product that does not require patches in the first weeks of release.

We are almost there.. but not quite.  Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Best regards,

Saxondragon

Take your time guys, I've expected you to work for additional 4-6 weeks before release

Nothing wrong with the Blizzard way methinks, we all know you are doing the right thing for our good! (before our souls are lost forever in PoP 3.0, that is ... and Noosers starts to torture us with a huge toothpick)

For PoP 3, Noosers has a very sharp stainless steel toothpick!

We ran into a couple of problems that are total pains in the neck and SD really wants to release a mod that does not need 101 patches the first few weeks it is out.  We are up to Beta 6 now, about to start beta 7, which we hope will be the last.  BUT, this time, we need time to play through all aspects of the game to the bitter end of the game, to make sure all there is working right.  SD still has 2 lots of things he wants to code in, too, and they are not tested yet.  MadVader coded some new things today and also fixed a bunch of the latest bugs.  The initials LOD elicit loud groans daily.  Nobody on the team has had time to get much past mid-game thus far, before a new beta emerged.  So, we need a couple of weeks to do that and then fix whatever else nasty pops up, no pun intended.

Thank you for the update. I greatly appreciate the time and energy going into testing it and making sure it comes out solid - a buggy game can leave a bad taste in your mouth long after the issues themselves are patched.

Do what you need to do. I'm excited and anxious to play; I check the forums twice daily just in case - but I'll be here, happy and anxious, when you feel the game is ready to release. Nothing but positive support and appreciation from this end :)

Despite being over-anxius to play this (allthough I don't have much time at hand - damn work  ) I am perfectly happy to sit back and wait for you guys to test and bug hunt and improve and do whatever it takes to deliver another top-notch PoP experience to us. We ain't gonna bicker and moan and groan, on the contrary we are so darn happy (and appreciative) you are putting so much serious work and effort into this, that we only can say Thank you!

Hopefully this doesn't end up like Second Age.

Seeing how there is constant updates and interaction, not to mention the fact that there have already been multiple releases of Prophesy Pendor including a very stable 2.5 version, how could you possibly make a statement like that? The guy doing Second Age never released anything ever!

Show some respect.

Thanks.

It's pretty simple, as SD and Fawzia said, we want to find and fix all the bugs we can and release a polished mod people enjoy playing, not something of beta quality that everybody will try, then dump when sufficiently annoyed by bugs.

PoP 3 at its current stage of Beta 6 is already more stable and bug-free than numerous mods at the time of their release, but that is not good enough for us.  It is not a concept like Second Age, it is the continuation of a finished mod.  I fail to comprehend how someone can misconstrue the statement that there will be a couple of weeks delay before release of PoP 3, for the clearly-stated purpose of finding and fixing bugs, to mean the mod won't be released. (Edit: X-Warrior-X, sorry, your post is ridiculous; perhaps you are not well-acquainted with PoP V 2.5 or our team's previous work?)  SD's and the team's wish is to release a mod which does not require tons of patches within an hour of release -  that should be praised, not disparaged.

Good luck with the bug hunting! I personally know that once its finished, I'm not stopping till everyone that doesn't call me king is dead in Pendor  :D, or maybe ill just stop once only the 2 noldor unique spawns are left  :x, I really hope there is a noldor city  :P

You know, I have a busy commute to work every day and have for many years. Effectively I travel in and among hundreds of cars every single day. 99.999% of them are polite, respectful company in our shared adventure of flinging ourselves, wrapped in a ton of metal and plastic, powered by explosive compression at high speed and generally squeezing within a few feet to even a few inches of each other. A few people are not though. Cutting people off, following too close or otherwise being rude and obnoxious.

It used to really irk me. Then I realized that I was letting that one jackass in my commute overshadow the fact that the other hundred and fifty or so people and vehicles I travel in and among are polite, reasonably considerate folks. Why would I let that one schmuck color my whole day? Why sell that one bad example some real estate in my head when the dozen people who let me get over, moved to let me merge or otherwise showed me some consideration get forgotten right after the fact?

You're doing amazing work. The time and energy you are all spending is greatly appreciated. Please don't let the one in a hundred of your fans who comes across poorly color your view of what we're all thinking. We're all anxious and we all understand that you're taking the time to do it right because you take personal pride in the quality of the mod. That is WHY we are here - we know that when PoP 3 is released it's going to be effing amazing. Anyone who doesn't get that is an aberration. If they have a problem, it's their problem, not yours.

Do your thang. I'm sure PoP 3 will be released when you're not just comfortable with it but it makes you down right smug. That's as is should be.
