I just thought I'd make a list of some promising mods I've seen around, either to help the mod creators, or the mod itself
It also includes some older unfinished mods.

NOTE: it's my opinion!

Curtain of Fire mod (this has been discussed a lot, since M&B is all about realism... but hell, looks good).
http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,30512.0.html

So far it has several spells included which can be cast by using items with a certain durability. So far.
Now avaliable for download!

A Broken Realm mod: Hip Hip, Hurray! Elven-like names!
http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,23537.0.html

- A new, huge map
- new factions
- new items
- Sea travelling
- You can get drunk!  (personal note: there's no pot yet, snif.)
- You can be favoured or unfavoured by the gods and godesses
- The player's actions have a worldwide effect

It appears the main feature planned is to have "total" freedom (example given: "wrecking into houses")! If it's successful, I'll try it for certain.
It also has some nice models.

Warrior of Eternity mod: needs no introduction
http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,27386.0.html

- Six races (factions): Humans, Elfs, Dwarves, Quelthasas, Undead, Naiyan
- Unique characters, mounts, equipments, and trooptrees for each race!
- Flying mounts (?)
- Magic (?)
- Weird gadgets  (?)

And much more!

The team has some really nice modellers and original writers. Keep it up!

[Dead?] Nuno's mod [EX]: looks fun, but it also looks quite dead. Hope is the last one to die though!
http://mbx.streetofeyes.com/index.php/topic,151.0.html

A pure fantasy mod, with a few original features such as

- Treasure hunting
- Arena in every town, and oyu have the possibility to challenge the town champion
- Ambushes
- Gain abilities/skills from doing certain quests
- Gain abilities from fighting
- Gain abilities/skills from getting a rank in the faction
- Faction points: spend points on items, skills or unlock quests
- Artifact items - might be books, items (gems, jewelry, pottery, etc) with selling value, trade value for partiular NPCs, target of a quests, etc.
- Special Traveling Merchant - Appears in a different towns and sells rare and expensive items. Might also give quests.

Its been dead since May or something.
If anyone manages to contact him (I've tried) say something.

A Medieval Adventure mod: A huge amount of scenes
http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,30204.0.html

- No map
- A large story, loads of content
- Bosses
- Several mini quests
- Do everything from break into the kings throne room to escape from a dungeon

I like the "no map" feature!

Legions mod:

[review being worked on]

Dies the Fire mod: Modern world! (It's no "Ignite and Blade" though.)
http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,20339.0.html

- New buildings such as apartment blocks, skyscrapers, etc...
- Vehicles!
- Modern clothing
- disadvantage  : cars and trucks dont work. (damn, I'll never fulfill my dream to run over a dark knight.)

The story (from original thread):
"Something-subtly alters the physical laws of the natural universe just enough so that the Promethean flame of technology is abruptly extinguished.  The party's over.  No more electricity, no more guns, no more internal combustion, nowhere on Earth. Why, remains a mystery. (until much later in the series)
The entire world is plunged back into the feudal age.  People die by the millions due to lack of food, fires disease and by other people.  No order. Total chaos, anarchy. The only way to survive is to fight.
When technology dies, how will you survive?"

WTF, M&B in the modern world?!

wait a second...

Skeletal Throne: Undeads/zombies, etc...
http://mbx.streetofeyes.com/index.php/topic,837.0.html

- A storyline
- Three categories of combat spells
- An event calendar
- Magic items (?)
- Unique towns (?)
- New skills (?)

Motivating?

Fantasy Mod: Tolkieneesh style
http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,12109.0.html

- You have the choice of four races: Elven, Human,Troll or Orc
- New mounts such as tigers, boars, wargs, crocodiles, rhinos...
- New weapons (I like the elven ones )
- Huge war parties

That's not nearly all though, check it out.

The Last Days: Lord of The Rings mod. Pretty cool, whether you're a fan or not.
http://mbx.streetofeyes.com/index.php?board=20.0

- Lord of the Rings map
- Lord of the Rings characters and factions
- Day and Night advantages/disavantages acording to your factions (orcs better at night, humans better at day, are elves neutral)
- Some cool equipments and horses

I haven't seen a serious storyline though, I don't know what the mod would look like with one.
Great all the same!

Guardian's Party Mod: Didn't try it out yet, but seems interesting!
http://mbx.streetofeyes.com/index.php/board,54.0.html

- A storyline
- Many quests
- Unusual weapons
- Strong factions
- Hidden passages
- Strong heroines (no discrimination!)
- Fast healing and leveling
- Quite a few hidden treasures

The game gets to be a little weird, but it's funnier that way!

Expanded Gameplay II: Rise of the Bear Clan: Fun!
http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/board,91.0.html

- Distinct character "classes"
- Loads of new items
- Magic items
- Trophies from battles
- Combat abilities
- Gambling (wohoo!)
- Pretty complex death/wound/knock-out probabilities
- Ghost mode if you die (spooky, but its fun to freak out those pesky sea-raiders)
- Attribute trainers

Huge!

The Tripartition Mod: Chinese mod, about a traditional chinese history in the Han dinasty, in the year 168.
http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,27312.0.html

-You play the game in the map of China, with realistic oriental aspects.
-No more NPCs being blocked by objects on the battleground (improved AI)
-Realistic equipments
-Unique items (heroic) with special features
-You can have your own bodyguards! (I try to make mine all look like Bruce Willis)
-Large-scale historical battles: Four will occur during the game, each one with huge political and economic impact on the nations involved.

I'm still waiting for martial arts to be implemented hehe

Schattenländer: Into the Darklands mod: reconstruction of the old PC game "Darklands"
http://mbx.streetofeyes.com/index.php/topic,88.0.html

About Darklands (original game) :

From wiki: "While the geographic setting of the game is historically accurate, the game also includes many supernatural elements. As the manual states, "whatever people of the era imagined was possible, now really is possible...care was taken to make this world be the real 15th Century, as perceived by its inhabitants

There are no alternate species available in character creation — all players are human and are differentiated by occupation. Any party member is capable of performing what are known as class-based feats in many other role playing games, but skillful players usually improve the party member's skills only in the appropriate area. Thus, the equivalent of a cleric in this game would be someone who specialized in religious studies as well as healing skills. Because the character specialized in the above, however, does not preclude him or her from learning artifice skills (lock picking, etc) that are often forbidden in other RPGs."

The mod itself is was bit confusing for me, due to the fact that I wasn't waiting for something all that different from the M&B format, but it was. I'm not saying it's bad though! You have several differences such as in-town-battles, ambushes, item durability, an incredible variety of potions, deep character customization, etc.

Warhammer 40,000 mod

[review being worked on]

The Peloponnesian War mod:  Strategy+Action+RPG = TPW mod

- New sound FX and music
- Tribute system

300 without the fantasy part
And much more politica-strategica-economica-lly fun.

Galactic Mercenary mod: Wohoh...ho ho... ho.
http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,25575.0.html

- Magic: three kinds of magic. Destruction magic (fire, Ice, Wind, Water, etc.), healing magic, and summoning magic.
- Two types of fighter: Idealists and Traditionalists. (futuristic/actual and fantasy/original, respectively)
- Elven Swords and Weapons. (fantasy/original M&B type?)
- Modern Swords, Weapons and Armor (actual?)
- Prototype Laser Weapons, and armor. (futuristic.)
- You're a... erm... Galactic Mercenary. The better you are, the more you get paid, and the harder the job is.
- New heroes
- Buy, control, and defend a base, and upgrade it.
- Attack whoever you want.
- New map and buildings

You like to be the crazy melee fighter alone on the front line, showing off your individual suicidal skills...
...but you'd like to have your gunners and nukers covering you from behind? This mod's for you.

Pirates of Calradia mod: Be a medieval nordic Marine! Have a really tight and baby-blue outfit! A tatoo! (note: these features are not included)
http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,27218.0.html

- Combats in high-sea
- Modified map
- Merchant ships and parties on the sea
- Town sieges
- Heroes now avaliable for catapult ammo.

(incomplete review: If anything's missing, please do tell me!)

...

More to be added (help out!)

Good idea. It would be especially good if you updated it with your impressions of the mod after its release.

Aenarion 说:
It doesn't include my mod. This thread fails...

But seriously, don't we have a thread like this already?

Aenarion, that's a thread with the mods for the latest release
(Whats your mod btw?)

My point is to bring up released and unreleased mods that I consider interesting, since M&B 0.751.

But to do a thread with mods, SOME mods are compulsory to be included

I'm gonna post screenshots and further information on each mod, and some more mods over there later on.

If anyone finds a thread like this or has any objection, I won't have any problem removing this one!

EDIT: Nice, I like your mod! It's in!

"mod reviews" thread?

Maybe add the Walls of Konstantiniyye mod, as it has a great load of Things finished.

You already have some dead mods listed. I have a list with the ones that are in progress. If I thought you would keep it updated I'd be happy to let you take over but you'll probably get bored eventually.

Guardians mod is up there but mine or merathais pirates of caladrias isnt? wow what did I do so wrong with the 40k mod? and why the hell isnt pirates of caladria up there it is made out of win.

Guys, I don't know every mod that there is out there, though i'll be checking out as many as I can!

Please understand, I have a life too

Don't worry, good mods will be included. If they're not yet, it's because I haven't checked them out yet.

Give me some time xD
(I'm writing reviews on some as we speak, hang on hehe)

Blasphemer!

Also, what Shiro said; The Peloponnesian war should definitely be on there.

Aenarion 说:
It doesn't include my mod. This thread fails...

No Galactic Mercenary? If you don't think its promising, I'm fine with that, but have you looked at it before?

No, I haven't...  :???:

There are still a lot of mods for me to see...

If you want to make the reviews yourself, because for some reason, I haven't (yet) and put them here, be my guest!

Help will be accordingly rewarded (I will most probably just say "Thank you!")

It's not fair if I make the review. Then it would be a very biased review...

Anyways, here's a link to Gmerc, so you can look at it.
