Anyone who just watched microsoft's presentation at E3 will absolutely stunned by what they just saw.

It's a full body motion capture device integrated into games.

I am currently in awe of it and cannot wait to see what games are produced for this device.

The ones demoes all seemed like next-gen eye toy style games.

I, however, believe that this is not the xbox 360's answer to the eyetoy. This is something revolutionary.

It doesn't take a genius to work out how this would revolutionise Mount & Blade.

What are everyone's thoughts on this new technology and would anyone else like to see this for mount & blade?

Here I'll be posting links to videos of this new technology (they are creeping up slowly as the e3 demo only just finished)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YmY0JNRIPOU - a guy logging in to xbox live with his face.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=biQR0qsPWzg - official trailer.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dWnZOseA3Lw - "Milo" The interactive creation by Lionhead.

That trailer, made me laugh! I like movement, sports etc. But I don't really want this in games. And I do not want to make movements in the air and pretend I was doing something. E.g. that skating in the trailer, why not just buy a real board and get outside? Would even be cheaper than that gimmick. Don't understand this…

The only motion capture game I ever played was a Tekken game wired to motion sensors. Not. ****ing. Fun. It's much more satifing in the end just to walk over to the other smack and smack him.

Motion capture is rarely that good. he stuff seen in that videoisn't the stuff that you or I can buy off the counter. From the looks of it, it's the equipment used by motion capturing companies who have to specialize in such equipment upping their cost. Either we can't afford it or it's a watered down ****tier version.

And let me tell you, trying to do combinations, heck trying to read the instructions of how to pull off a 15 punch combo in Tekken isn't very fun when you try to put it into practice.

I saw the Milo one. I can see how that would be useful, playing some RPG and seeing the reaction of a character when I laugh at their pathetic story.

Thing is, it doesn't work in our current gaming world. Could this be amazingly cool holodeck-style? Sure thing. Do I want it in my home? Nah.

(Why am I question-talking? I really dont know.)

Eh... I can see how you'd think it's awesome, and personally I think it's awesome too. Practical? Hell no. If you want to move around while you play, get a Wii. The most I move is when I use my trackir which follows my head movements. I don't want to stand up and jump around. If I wanted to do that, I'd go outside and do things for real. Now, more gamer-friendly technology would be this. Think about doing something without actually doing it. Sounds like a politician, and we know those are successful.

Gah! that thing looks scary. I don't want cancer.

Ultimatley, the success of this depends on dev support.

I find it hard to believe that RPGs would back it. It's too high risk for something that takes so long to make.

It's kind of catch 22. People won't buy it unless there's good games for it. There won't be any good games for it until devs know that alot of people own one.

I don't think that's an issue. Being Microsoft almost ensures that when and if it does hit the market, it will be cost-effective and widespread.

Now, that does seem a bit harsh.

They certainly grabbed a large share of the market with the x360.

Erm, true? Microsoft completely botches most of its projects. It is sustained by nothing more than its previous monopoly & well-accomplished past. People buy new products because they still expect that sort of quality. Microsoft is a steady, professional business. You don't get 'innovation' from it, however.

Edit: @Zaro, this is true. It is a pretty great console. However, they failed with the 'buy an Xbox for Halo 2' business.
