I generally don't like to post "progress" updates either, since most people just skim an organised list, jump to wild conclusions based on a quick guess of what an entry means, and start flame wars or incorrect rumours. It happens regularly even with the little that is said. I basically just talk about new or changed features when relevant to a detailed discussion in the suggestions thread; so you might be able to figure things out if you have the time and patience to read all the posts since last release.
