I just wanted to know what kind of programs yall are using to make textures and make 3D models.

It looks like most of the people on this forum have done some modding, so i'm thinking i'd like to take a shot at it with this game. (I have a little background with autoCAD, and im taking a computer science class, if those help at all)

Also, i havent played with the unofficial editor yet, but whats the jist of what it can do?

3d max for both modelling and texturing (though you have to be able to export the model to put texture on it), and photoshop for fixing textures.

I might have a swing at it with Maya, I find modelling with Maya pretty easy, but texturing annoying. So I might export it and texture 3dsMax3

notepad as well.

What is with the notepad? What could you do with it that could possibly count as a part of modelling and/or texturing?

Thank you for all the examples for 3D and textures, but now what are some examples that the editor can do?

Lightwave 8.3 for modelling, photoshop cs2 for textures, visual studio 2005 beta 2 for server side applications (none running yet though  ), notepad and a good browser for finding textures.
