I'm having trouble with step 6 of yoshiboy's tutorial. I cant seem to get anything up with the unofficial editor. I have everything i need downloaded. When I open the Editor, I get a blank window, with module, edit, and view dropdown menus in the top left corner (module is the only one that will drop down). When i drop down the module menu, i get new and open. I cant open anything though (none of the folders have anything in them). I also have a folder name mbedit, inside theres another folder named mbedit (it has stuff like datadefs.cpp, troopPage.h and EditForm.resx) and one other mbedit that takes me into C++, but i then get an error saying so and so file could not be loaded, its either missing from disk or access denied.

So could anyone please help me, or walk me through step 6 (screenshots would be very helpful, so I know im on the right track)?

Are you sure your in the M&B modules folder?

(IE: C:\Program Files\Mount&Blade\Modules)

It sounds to me like your in the editors folder..

wait, so should i create my weapon and properties by going directly to the modules folder, or do i go through effidens editor to make the weapon and properties?

The folder you specify when you choose to open a Module is the M&B module you are going to edit. The default is something like c:\Program Files\Mount&Blade\Modules\Native. When you select the module folder, the editor will load all the files for that module.

And it does not work with 0.710 yet. Hopefully by the end of the weekend.

It does work, but it doesn't handle some of the new changes, such as shield speed.

It does? Did you try opening the Native module?

And shield speed isn't supported? That actually should be. My list grows ever longer...

I think shield speed is supported...there is a listing for speed, and I know I was able to edit the shield speed with your older editor.

Using the version 0.303, I could open a 0.710 Native Module (I just re-tried to be sure). I only get this window before. My apologies about shield speed : it is supported.

I got it working and added my item. I uninstalled V C++ express, the editor and source, then just reinstalled the editor and source, and got it to work.

FYI: You don't need the source to have it work. That is just if you want to look at the source code for the project.

Okay, thanks.
