Problem with custom troops

I don't really see this is something I can search up, so don't point me over there. And I haven't seen this problem before either.
Basically, I made myself a new troop tree. I modified the nothing and nothin troops, leaving the ID alone. I sorted out the rest of the tree, all upgrades, changing virtually everything on the two recruits without chaning the ID. Loaded up Mount and Blade, recruited them, and whaddya know it's back to nothing and nothin. I rechecked the troops.txt, and my Illorian units were there just like I thought. But the game seems to think they aren't, and is recruiting the originals instead.
Any thoughts? I'm kinda stumped and I put 4 hours work in that troop tree.

I would suggest using the module system (if you aren't using it already). It is much easier to deal with than going through the troops file by use of notepad.

As for your problem, I'm not sure what it could be. The only thing I can tell you, is that until I used the module system for the custom troops, I couldn't get them to work at all.

I also have problem
I add many new items from mod TPW to create a greek town
after done with all troops equipment and upgrade tree I run the game
but when I change to player faction culture I don't get anything work

What I found my problem was with this was I hadn't altered the original two entrys and instead only edited the ones I had copy/pasted. You have to leave the custom nothins in the original spot in the text file. Edit them to whatever but leave the ID, and any ones after them make them upgrade too.

I kept having trouble for ages until I realised I was meant to edit the orgininal entry in the original spot. So make sure the two entrys that you copied (the ones you copied to create the spots for the rest of your upgrades) are the ones you edited for the beginning of your troop chain. Sounds like thats your problem.

When you change the troops.txt either directly or with the troop editor you can't relocate the two recruit entries because these are referenced by line number elsewhere in the files. If you just add your new troops at the end and point the two existing recruits to these upgrades everything works fine.

If you use the module system you generate new references so this problem does not occur.

Hmm...
I didn't totally understand what you're saying, but all my custom troops are at the bottom of the troops.txt file. Including the original recruits. So is that my problem?
If so, looks like I need a new troops.txt... xD

Correct.
These custom recruits need to be at the lines they are now and they need to keep their current troop ID - "custom_recruit" for the male, "f_custom_recruit" for the female, just change everything else so it mirrors your recruit.

Perhaps to explain the references.
Somewhere else in the text files there is an entry that says that the custom culture uses as recruits the troops in lines 240 and 241 (for example). While it's possible to find these entries and change them to the new unit numbers it's easier to change the existing recruits so they look like you want them.

Ah right thanks. And thank you for the fast response, I was beginning to get annoyed. 4 hours time isn't sometime I like to waste :)
Righto, time for a new troops.txt...

sorry can someone post the CS 0.67 troop.txt
I forgot to back up and now I in big trouble because game auto create 2 unit to fill the number so I have many unit wrong potision

God, use your head :P
Open up your current troops.txt, go to the bottom, copy+paste all the extra troops you made into another notepad, then re-download it, past them to the bottom of THAT, then modify the original 2 recruits accordingly.
Simples!

Wait, do you need the CS 0.67 troop.txt or the CS 0.675 troop.txt?

In any case, before you change a file make a copy. Or keep the rar download.
Otherwise as Kaibur said, create a new file, save your work and copy it back into a fresh unaltered troops.txt.

And if you want a small download that has all the text files, simply download the Source files, since that has the module system and the text files without any of the big files.
