problem porting textures into warband

So basically im trying to port my 1.011 textures into the new warband mod I am making, I was thinking since they were all .dds files they should work. So I copied my textures pasted them into my warband module folder textures, I then copied the items1.txt into the warband items1.txt (the ones that were new to the mod) So I thought yes this should work.

When I started the game with the new textures they loaded correctly, however when I actually started putting the armor on soldiers I am getting RGL error: to many varations (or variables) on cruscoata (one of the textures I am using) what does that mean? will I haft to edit the textures my self with a program to make them work?

Or am I doing something wrong, is the items1.txt for the items incompatible with warband or Will I haft to find new items and textures all together.

If yall have any idea how to help me with this problem it will be much appreciated.
 
You'll need to include the textures in one of the .brf resource files so the game knows ot load them.

I don't think so. I know of an advantage you'll get by using WB instead of MB, though: you can now use Tangent Directions in your textures. I think they are only for bumpmaps, whatever they are, these TangentDirs, but I might lie to you. I'm certain in the ability to use them, though. :smile:
 
Tangent directions tell the game in what direction the uv coordinates lie per vertex, so that it can correctly calculate for example the normals on the surface according to the normalmap :wink: (at least that's how I understood it.)
 
As a quick note I should say that object space normal maps works fine in MaB 1.011.
Skyrim uses them for characters too if that makes it cooler.

The only drawback respect to its tangent-armored cousin is that you can't do stuff like tiling and mirroring with the textures.
But hey, it's cheap and works, with a custom shader.

ok I did what you said but the game still cant load them, this is extremely frustrating.
