Prisoner Revolts, Player Imprisonement and Slave Prices

Users who are viewing this thread

Hi,

I'm not sure if any of this is possible, but I've had a few ideas regarding prisoner taking and such.

Essentially, prisoners would have a chance of either escaping from your party while its in transit or actually revolting against you, leading to a battle, though, of course, the prisoners would be very poorly armed and somewhat weakened. This could be based on prisoner management skill and party size relative to the number of prisoners.

Also, as an extra penalty for losing a battle, not only your hired soldiers but also the player could be captured by the enemy, and at various times there would be a chance of escape or revolt.

One other thing. At the moment all prisoners are of the same worth when sold into slavery, I think their monetary value should be calculated based on their strength, and maybe agility as well.

Sorry to have rambled on a bit there, but does anyone have any thoughts?

Hey Lonely.

All of these ideas, while good, have been suggested several times before. You can use the 'Common Suggestion Guide' to help you find the most common suggestions ... or you could try to use the search function. Fair warning ... the search function on this site isn't very good and very likely to bring up hundreds of threads.

I don't like the thought of prisoner's escaping, myself. Unless you had the ability to actually capture more than your prison management skill allowed and then the more you go over your 'safe' limit ... the greater the percentage chance they have of escaping.

I think that the player getting captured is a very good idea. If the player could then be put into a gladiator type of battle where he must survive three matches in a row to win his freedom ... that would be ideal to me.

The issue about slave prices has been going on for quite some time ... some say that as the slaves are all used for menial labor ... they should all be worth the same amount. Some say that you should be able to ransom soldiers back to their families if they are of sufficient status (knights). Some (I'm one) believe that there should be gladiator games where your slaves are worth more depending on their fighting ability.

Anyways ... try and find the relevant threads to your post if you can. It can be a real pain doing so ... and if you are unable to do so then create a new one.

EDIT: Beaten again! Thanks, Flaming Eyes.

Take care,

Thank you master.
NO don't do it! You will kill us all! DON'T listen to him! Feel the light of the force which I know is still in you! FIGHT IT!

Okay, I'll use the search in future, my bad. Prisoners should be worth different amounts because they do menial labour. They are either slaving in the Salt Mine or rowing on galleys! A strong knight would be much more sought after than a shirtless hobo pirate.

The idea of gladiatorial combat for freedom is interesting, but it might kind of contradict the reality of the game; if they take you prisoner simply to make you fight one another that would be a little odd...
