Prisoner Rescue Mission at Maras Castle, prisoner spawns as a hostile

I'm doing a prisoner rescue mission and, after releasing the prisoner and returning to the courtyard, the prisoner attacks me. This happens no matter which option I select (Stay back or help fight). He turns and swings at me then walks backwards towards the stairs to the ramparts. There he fights with the enemy soldiers and, if he lives, just keeps walking backwards into the edge of the ramparts, unable to move. If I walk near he swings at me but he doesn't move away from his spot. I have to knock him in order to get out of the scene, but of course this means I do not manage to rescue him.
 
If I'm not mistaken, this was fixed somewhere between v105 and v111 (or was it 113?), and most recent version is v126 (1.126). I know because I had the same problem - I couldn't complete the scene where I'm supposed to neutralize all prison guards without knocking out the prisoner I'm supposed to save, since he attacked me and the scene didn't end till I knocked down last remaining hostile - THE guy I was busting out. And this bug has been fixed, and I was able to successfully bust the prisoner out.

I recommend downloading the full version and starting the game again, though I'm sure devs will say its ok to use patch and continue your game (if you're not running any mods). I'm a bit paranoid  :mrgreen:
 
I had a quest to resque one of my lords from a castle. While there i fould king graveth. Since i was trying to build an alliance with the Rhodocks, i decided to free him. However he said. "I am not afraid, I will fight", and then nothing happens.
 
This bug still occurs from time to time, even in 1.125.

The only way I've seen to fix it is by restarting the game application. The prisoner will no longer be hostile to you afterward.
 
STILL happening in 1.127. For the record, my relation with the lord I'm trying to rescue is neutral (0), so it's not some weird hostility bug.

If it helps, I'm on the quest from a lord (Boyar Vuldrat) to rescue his brother (Boyar Naldera) from Wercheg. I had the peasants in Odasan set a fire outside the village at midnight to draw off the guards (which seems to have worked). Regardless of whether I ask him to help or stay behind, he's flagged as hostile and the scene will not end until he's knocked out. Wondering if it had to do with a bug in drawing off the guards, I waited until the next day and tried again with all the guards present in broad daylight. Nope, he'd rather kill me than fight his captors.

EDIT: NOTE, restarting the game and trying again may clear the issue. It seems to be intermittent.
