Pretty much stuck :l

Cool, I was just wondering if you could sell them to your king or something. Or throw the heathen in jail

I let them go, unless I have a quest to capture a Lord for the king. I'm going for really high honor, and you gain honor if you let them go after you defeat them.

(next game I play through, I think I'm gonna go for low honor and be the biggest scumbag I can, just to see what happens)

Stuck again.

I never seem to be able to get my hands on any more land (castles, fiefs and towns) because our clearly deluded king fails to acknowledge my existence, so all I've got is  some ****ty little fief right on the border with our latest enemy (therefore constantly being raided).

Any tips on how to get land given to you?

Brown the King a little and get your renown up. Also convince lords to support your claim of the fief by talking to them.

Capturing some of the forts/towns by yourself will increase your chances of getting it drastically, increasing your relationship with king, lords will contribute to decision who will get the captured castle/town!

Capture towns, and kiss the kings ass. got it.

thanks

EDIT:
god I'm a noob at this game  :???:

Haha,you got it!

Try doing tasks for lords, that will surely help in increasing relationship with them.Take a part in conquering castles and after some of the castles is captured(not by you),speak with lords and king, ask them who should receive it and you'll get the option to convince them that you should get it in your possession. That also depends on your persuasion skill as well as your relationship with each of them!

Let me guess, Ehlerdah?

It pays to have friends.  Raise your relation with fellow vassals by helping them in fights and doing quests for them.  Get married and throw a bunch of feasts.  During the feast, talk to everyone once a day for +1 relation with them, plus +2 relation after the feast is over.  Feasts are also handy for getting all the lords in one place for politicking purposes.  Once lords get above +20 relation or so, you can ask them who should get fiefs and ask them to support you; mostly they will.

As pointed out, don't wait for the king to give you a castle--snatch one from an enemy faction and ask that it be rewarded to you.  Castles that have just been taken by the enemy are excellent for sieging since their garrisons will be low at first.

I want to take the time to praise JosieJ for playing the game and paying attention instead of being all, "OMG, what do I do."  Well done and good advice.

Well, a good advice would be to get lots of honour, as the honourable lords gain positive relations with you over time. Then they would support you later, if you want a fief or whatever. You get honour by refusing the payment from the villagers if you save a village from bandits. You get honour from refusing payment after the "kill nervous man" quest. You also get honour by just letting captured lords go away, but I wouldn't recomment it if you're having a hard time

Anyways, try to stick with the Swadians. Sometimes things go bad, but you may change the outcome

Thanks!   I definitely had my "what do I do?!" moments, though, as a glance at the stickied singleplayer threads will show!
