That ****ing alcoholic. That's the first mission I accepted, and I'm still trying to get him home. Thinking of putting a bullet in his head any minute now...

Er, no, you don't have to restart it. It's simply that you have to complete all the other main quests before you can get the key.
 
The latest version 1.3 of the Unofficial Patch was released on The Patches Scrolls:

It was renamed from Unofficial English Translation Patch to Unofficial Patch
because it works on both Russian and English versions of the game. In fact
it is planned that the next official patch for the English version from GFI will

Restored some unused music pieces when in space, thanks to player1.

Hello! I'm on my first real space mission where I have to "Escort the transport to Goldin's orbit"
Exactly how do I do that?
When I press "F" I only get the usual alternatives (hyper/leave/interstellar) What do I need to do to make the transport follow me?
Please, help me! I've been searching google for two days now without answers!

It works fine on my system with the Unofficial Patch, but in the original game drugs and alcohol were swapped in the HUD.

:lol:  Classic.

Eh, can anybody tell me how to deploy the beacons for the sandworm quest?  I can't get them out of inventory without placing them in the right areas, but when I go to the areas specified nothing happens and there is no way to place them in the ground. 

Sandworms on a remote desert planet that produces a valuable mineral.  The game is full of highly original sci-fi ideas like this, but all in all, it's hard to disapprove.
