Is this a thing only for Captain mode and Skirmish mode? Or all game modes including Siege and Duel?
I kind of understand the reasoning for pre-set equipments for Captain and Skirmish if i consider the given information for them. They kinda meant to be e-sport features, just like, maybe this will be a wrong example but League of Legends, Overwatch etc. So players should be fast to decide their classes and get into battle in a short amount of time.
What about Duel and Siege? In Siege, you don't have to "pick and rush" since, well there is a looping server where hundreds of players fight, die, respawn, fight... you have lots of time to decide what to get on you. You may decide go to afk for a minute or so if you have so important thing to look at in your real life, and your team won't be effected so much since there will be hundreds more players beside you (except if you are super-duper in sieges
).
In duel, well it's up to you to fight or just sit there and watch others fighting, learning their fighting techniques. You really don't have to pick your weapons and rush in.
