Winamp has a sentimental value and is completely sufficient for anything I want from it. It is small and has an impeccable skin. 10/10, would experience 1998 again.

90s, being 6 or 7, on a weekend pre-Christmas party somewhere around 16th of December somewhere in a cottage far away from any town with my dad and his friends and their children and having a laptop playing:



is basically the definiton of winamp for me.

XMPlay was released in 1998 so has just as much sentimental value, plays more tracker formats and accurately plays XM/MOD/S3M/IT, is compatible with all Winamp plugins, performs better, has a Winamp skin to look like classic late 90's Winamp, is more versatile/customisable, and is generally better in every way. There is no reason to keep using Winamp when XMPlay exists. Your nostalgia is irrelevant when it conflicts with my own personal opinion.

Exactly. It's small, uses very little resources, plays MP3 and streams Internet radio. I really don't need it to do anything else. That is, if you stick to the Lite version and not the bloated bull**** that is the Full version.
