At least he had a decent taste in fashion and was pretty photogenic, which makes Ataturk facebook profile pictures and constant instagram Ataturk posts tolerable and sometimes even interesting.

and also Ataturk picture is a way to make a statement of political opposition without risking any repercussions. You know for sure that noone's going to arrest you for a Ataturk picture and noone can even object, so anti-AKP people aggressively post Ataturk pictures everywhere in any opportunity.

Turkey is so complicated country. There is so many problems. One part of the people likes Atatürk like a prophet. They don't know other things. But when you asked him, he don't know even truthly Atatürk is.

When 1914-18 Armenians rebelled to Ottoman Empire. Armenians known as traitor from Turkish people. Then in 1919 Atatürk rebelled to Ottoman Empire and founded his own council. Why Armenians has known as traitor and Atatürk as a hero? If u can answer that and love Atatürk. Atatürk is yours hero but even cant answer that question; you were deceived.

Also there is a other part. They knows Atatürk a commander, but not as a hero. Just a rebel. And they know Republic of Turkey is a rebellions conclusion. So here is the answer the first part of Turkey people likes Atatürk as a prophet. They think, they can't live without it. BUT He isn't a special man or a prophet. Her is just a nonimportant Turkish commander. Even not a good one.

I'm not going to write something about the importance of Ataturk, I mean if you are not Turkish he will have no significant importance to you. But, he is seen as a hero because he rebelled in order to save Turkish nation from the invasion of foreign powers. He is seen as a hero by the Turkish Nation, not the Ottoman family nor the elite. Second, seeing him as a prophet is a load of crap, never heard something like that. Don't made up things according to your fantasies.
The French Republic, US of America, The Weimar Republic, Russia, China, Taiwan are all results of a rebellion, what is your point?
Yeah, founding father of the country of where you are living on is nonimportant Turkish commander.
