Defender gets huge bonus to army strength. And yes current autocalc is retarded.

That was a skirmish... not a siege...

The didn't want people auto-calcing their way to victory, so they made it retarded on purpose. They just went a bit far...

Unless the autocalc (rightly) rates the Nord archers as negative infantry?

Let me see... It was around 1020 vs 570... I got knocked out in first round due to arrow to the face....

I thought:

Since I nearly don't have any troops.. what can I lose then?

So I tried it... and the inevitable happened....

ROFLMAO. I've had massive losses in autocalc, but such a terrible loss - friggin never!

Autocalc is really horrible. Especially due to being forced to do this in very long sieges (1000+) which you cannot survive as a meele fighter unless you stay out of the biggest trouble...but where's the fun then

those losses happen only one in a million times... but as we all know that happens about every 9th time...

i recently entered a ladder siege, but tabbed out to change my equipment and change my party order. surprisingly, the autocalc for retreat actually worked in my favor--no casualties whatsoever to my side, and like 7 losses for the enemy. 

it was a small castle after all

Yet it doesn't because even with the highest tactics skill, you still keep getting massively large casualties.

Aw, if only I had my screenshot.  I had 60 vaegir knights against 88 khergit everything (only like 10 of them lancers), i lost all my guys and they lost about 20.  All because of a javelin to the face.

but if youre in a position where youre forced to autocalc or surrender, wouldnt you be wounded for your party skills to work?
