Turns out the computer decided to change C: and D: into E: and F:, but didn't tell itself. Now the OS is on E: but the computer has no idea where it is. Absolutely bizzare.

My dad's back and I told him to check the drive connections. The PC unit has been in direct sunlight for years so perhaps it's that.

I would recommend booting your PC into a recovery environment like Hiren's BootCD or All in One to change the drive assignments back to what they were before (and also locate the problem that caused it initially). Hiren's has a partition/disc manager that works pretty well. It boots into a "fake" Windows environment off the disc so you can fix any problems with the PC.

This is what All in One looks like, it's really useful. I use it all the time at the office:

I was about to say that the computer doesn't even boot up for something like that to work (it just cycles back to the BSOD endlessly), but my dad went ahead and reinstalled windows using the laptop, and now it's fine. This was natviely a WIndows 7 PC so the computer tried to revert to that after a weird boot and got itself confused.

Windows 10 even has an auto recovery menu that can revert to last known good configuration, it's pretty cool!!11!1!!! Fixes dual boot niBBz problems too bros!!

It was a simple problem with a simple solution. Obviously reinstalling Windows would "fix" the problem by completely bypassing it. You have learnt nothing from this. NOTHING ! ! !

My car broke down so I replaced the engine completely and it fixed the problem ! !

I already did that, it did nothing. Nothing had actually changed to cause the crash, unless it was some secret background windows update.

Linux recovery environment is the best way, always trust a Linux recovery environment.

Getting a little concerned. I'm being told electric magnetic fields emitted from computers and such harm my newborn daughter.
Is this true? I like watching stuff on my computer while I'm taking care of her.

EM radiation follows an inverse square law of intensity at a distance. Even if the wifi gave you cancer or other unscientific bull**** was true, as long as you're in another room there's no big deal. But there's absolutely no risk to you or your child even right up against the computer.
