Possible to use 1.153 module with 1.143 engine?

I've just come back to Warband after a break and, for me, 1.153 is bugged to blazes. After about 15 minutes of play I start getting really bad lag/stutter. Quit and relaunch fixes it (seems like a memory leak problem). There's also a weird graphical glitch where skyboxes have black blotches flashing all over them. It looks like dust on an old film. Just the sky - everything else renders normally. I reinstalled 1.143 and that still works fine, but the update included a lot of dialogue fixes and gameplay changes, so I wondered if it was possible to just copy the new native module over to use with the old engine, or if there's anything engine specific? I noticed all the sound values have been changed.
 
No, I don't believe 1.153 Native will run appropriately on 1.143. Particularly the sounds could be problematic as the sound engine was reworked and so they'll be referenced differently to have the correct playing priorities in battle, etc. I've not tried though and it'd be worth a try.
 
Tried it and it seems to be working OK. I switched to the old sounds.txt and commented out the changes in game_variables.txt to be on the safe side, but there's no discernible difference to my ears.
 
The Floris Workshop has been running the 1.153 module system under the 1.143 engine without any noticeable issues.  As long as the mod in question doesn't make use of any operations from 1.150+ then it will probably run okay.
