Possible to disable the instant auto calc when dead?

Just started playing this mod and having a blast.. but got a major nitpick. I played Prophesy of Pendor previously and it had the feature of.. well, if you die in battle you can remain lying there while your soldiers fight it out rather than it resulting in an instant retreat. I've only had this mod for a few days and if I had a dollar for every time it ****ed me over I would.. have about 10 dollars.
But in all seriousness, it's extremely frustrating now that I'm used with my death not being the end of the battle, + I've just started Dismount & Blade.. meaning these characters are probably my only infantry ones. I find myself standing with my right click held down more than anything :/

Is this planned for the future? Or is it possible to change it myself without too much fiddling? I've tried searching but couldn't quite think of the right terms, and found nothing.

I would but I haven't modded anything in my life, would feel like walking on thin ice hoping the next step doesn't go through.

Just do like this:

1) in the opening menu (the one that lets you choose the module), look for the "enable edit mode" box. Or is it "Edit mode on"? I don't remember.
Check it, anyway. Also, check "enable cheats".

2) once in game, when you die, press ctrl-f11 to pause the game, then ctrl-e to enter edit mode. This willenable some sort of "spectator mode" allowing you to watch over the battle (unable to give order, or call the "map" screen).

Et Voilà.

Thanks, it's definitely better than nothing. Never used the edit+mode so had no idea about it.
