Hi there, I planning to make a troop mod to turn this mod, Accurate Unit Promotion Price(a mod that force leaders to pay compensation of the new gears for a unit's promotion), more enjoyable. The reason why I want to do it is that I wish the progression of player's party can be more immersive, so that no more just a few hundreds of denars(which can only buy around 5 units of butter) to get a plate armor tank.
Currently I already made the price for weapons and armors to be much cheaper than the vanilla(at a cost of breaking the Smithing feature, unfortunately). What I want to do is to create a new troop system for factions: a recruit tree but has its troops don't differ each other in skills and equipments' price from tier to tier; a noble tree that similar to the vanilla in sense of skills and equipments' price; and 1~3 veteran tree that similar to the vanilla veterans units but comes with decent equipments when hired so that when upgrading them the cost wouldn't be too high.
So here comes the questions, is it possible to add new troop tree to the game's recruitment UI? And does it requires coding knowledge? Because I don't know coding, so if it was not possible to add or would require coding skill, then I will go try to figure some other way to smooth the promotion for units.
Thank you for reading! Have a good day!

It will require coding knowledge. To get custom trees to appear in the native recruitment UI you will need to patch the recruitment with Harmony in my experience.
It is possible to add new unit types aside from the basic and elite types specified in vanilla. Check out Soldiers of Fortune on Nexus.

Thank you both, and sorry for the late reply. Didn't get notification from the forum, so I was messing around with .xml, trying to start with making mameluke a seperated tree from the vanilla recruit tree. Now it makes sense why the mameluke soldier couldn't show up. Guess I will have to do it differently. Thank you both again for saving my trouble!
