That is an odd opinion LL. It only takes 16 letters including spaces to write As far as I know, but it takes 17 to write laughing out loud. Do you want to revise your opinion now?
Now tell me, how often is lol used to actually mean laughing out loud? 9/10 times it's used as a punctuation mark or a general acknowledgement.

^^Me and my friends do that, I say " hey Stu, Cath refused me sex" and he would say "LOL" It's quite funny

and AFAIK isnt?

No? In general it's used when you think you know something but aren't sure:

And plenty of others demonstrate the correct use of it.

For Your Information, if you can find a situation where it makes sense, sure.

for example- lets say lol means laugh out loud in this sentence, not laughing out loud.

I started to lol when he told me that joke.

And how often have you ever actually used "lol" in correct context like that? Even a single time? Probably not.

It's funny though, i am learning more than i did in highschool

Sadly, this is probably true. Schools have turned completely
to crap. I was talking to an intelligent senior, who hadn't
had to write a single paper over 5 pages in length in his
entire life. And this kind of crap is moving into college
too. The ethics class that I'm grading for only have to
write a total of about 6 pages over the course of a quarter.
In a God damned ethics class!

My stand on most of the abbreviations is that they add
greater emphasis to one's stand. For example, FYI indicates
that your entire intention is simply to transfer information;
AFAIK, while assumed, indicates that one is even more
uncertain of their knowledge than usually; IMHO is pretty
much crap, so I only use it to be sarcastic - my opinion is
NOT humble, but again, it can be used as a sort of qualifier
in case someone proves you wrong, e.g. the sign of the
unconvicted.

True.

Examples of lol:

"Wher cn I fnd dis lol"
"wtf lol"
"tell me agen lol"
"how to make mods lol"

Are these people "laughing out loud"? Nope.

Also, you would not see:
"Wher cn I fnd dis AFAIK"
"wtf AFAIK"
"tell me agen AFAIK"
"how to make mods AFAIK".

Imho means In my humble/honest opinion, and AFAIK I am not sure, but I always think of this guy:
mandmnursing_aflac_logo.jpg

AFAIK= as far as I know.

Aflac= an insurance company with a duck that always screams "AAAFLAAAC!!!" I think of that too when I see AFAIK.
