I've only had the game for a week, and I keep starting over because my characters get boring. I always join swadians, so this time i'm thinking of joining vaegirs to make it more fun, but I was also wondering what character you guys think is the most enjoyable. I'm not looking for what's the best, since pretty much any character i've made so far owns everything at level 25, so I don't need the best character.

Sorry if I left anything out, i obviously couldn't put every single possible character, so i just put the ones that i figured were most common.

Mounted bowmen rawk. They kill swiftly and from afar. Of course they need a good backup weapon too; two-handers seem ideal, since then you can use the fourth weapon slot for an extra bag of arrows.

Main drawback to that scheme is that you're vulnerable to incoming missile fire, having no shield with which to block while moving in... but you should only have to move in once you're out of ammo.

I love being a foot beserker with a huge sword/axe. You stand back from some huge fight for a second, and let everybody engage each other, and just jump right into the middle, swinging your axe like a madman.

I'd say what character you'd enjoy most depends on what aspect of the game you enjoy. Mounted bowmen are probably the strongest fighters in the game, and would allow you to take on huge forces by yourself. Personally though, I find that dull -- realistically all you're doing is exploiting the enemy AI.

Personally, I went with the crossbowman. I started with a priest so he could have good surgery and leadership, and then gave him a crossbow as his main weapon, since it doesn't require any special skills. In battle, I usually had him hang back with a lot of other bow-users, and we all pick off the enemies as they approach. Once the enemy closed with us, the troops all whippde out their swords and started hacking, and I continued to support them with my crossbow. Once the first wave was down (which usually didn't take long), the next wave would probably be on its way, and we repeated the process. This way I get the satisfaction of building up a strong war party, and actually leading them through the battle. I find that gives me a much stronger feeling of accomplishment than simply learning how to beat the enemy AI.

I usually use a one-hander and a shield mounted, but sometimes I just want to knock some ******* off his horse with a jharid to the face, you know?
