I think it'd be great if every NPC is every town could be killed. When you kill someone, everyone turns on you, and (if you're in a city) knights ride through the gate. You're then considered hostile to that city for a week. That'd be good...

And, if you were knocked out, you'd be locked up like you would if you were caught sneaking through the gate. Discuss!

It would be even better if you could choose to jail break, with a few other prisoners armed with clubs and knives, against padded clothed guards. That would be a really fun thing to do.

Yeah, that'd be cool.

Maybe if got caught and sent to gaol there could be some kind of gaol-break minigame. I dunno, maybe all you'd have is fists and no armour to fight your way out of three or so gaolers or constables armed with clubs.

Meh, it's a thought but I doubt a gaol system or constabulary will be implemented.

I'm not too excited by this. Feels like trying to throw the kitchen sink into the game. It would be neat to have a fully developed world, with all the RPG elements, but I would much rather see other stuff added in. A patch here and there isn't going to do much. If fully developed towns were added, then this would be a must - but I don't think that they can be.

One thing (on a related topic) that I was thinking of was allowing a player to immediately ransom himself for an equivelent number of levels of appropriate prisoners.

Seems kind of pointless. Your suggestion would only be good if you added a lot of other stuff in along with it. I'd rather we improved existing features, before we go about adding many new things in.

yah bit you should not have a knight ride into the town ypu should have a weaker lvl man

like a manhunter or two

The danger of using such sloppy typing style. No one knows what the <explitive deleted in order to avoid flame war> you are trying to say.

Alright people, move along, the net slang expert is here! Give him way!

He means that the officials are not going to send a party of knights to capture some damn pickpocket, instead a couple of footmen or militias will do the trick just fine.

To the languagemobile!

I believe you made that up. I can clearly read the word manhunter in his text, and it shows up nowhere in your translation. Anyway, my assumption is that (given the rules of this forum) his keyboard is faulty. We should wait until he is able to get one which works before trying to decipher this.

Yes well I took the freedom to replace "a manhunter or two" with "a couple of footmen or militias". And it was not an exact translation.

But then again, you asked for it:

You should not have a knight ride into the town, instead a lower level troop like a manhunter or two.

And DONT YOU EVER AGAIN QUESTION MY SKILLS IN NETSLANG-ENGLISH TRANSLATIONS NO MORE OR I WILL SPAM YOU FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE - ALL IN 1337.

Kind of depends on who the pickpocket is, doesn't it? Sending a manhunter out to get the noted (strangely kleptomaniac) leader of the largest warband in Calradia would be odd. Probably just ban you from entering the town ever again (a good solution in general). Anyone who resorted to this kind of petty larceny (which I believe Armagan has expressly stated will not be allowed) is being foolish anyhow.

So, Dynamite_Cow can read netslang? Well, at least we have a netslang translator.

On topic: Yes. if the thief is well known and famous they will have guards everywhere, especially around particularly valuable goods.

Of course, I've travelled the deepest Internet and met creatures most cannot even imagine in their wildest dreams. I can also speak 13375p34|<, swedish and other strange languages. And your avatar is scary.

Ahem, if the thief is known and famous, he'll get thrown into the dungeons won't he? Tough yeah, of course they won't send some random peasants against a warlord who decided to get a new horse from an enemy town, but he's disguised right? Though then again, if he's known enough, there propably is a bounty on his head already and thus there might be illustrations that more or less represent the original. Might just as well be that no one has lived to tell and thus they don't have an accurate image.

But the point is, yeah, the worse your rating with the said faction the higher level units are going to be sent against you. But should you happen to do your stealing (well maybe not for horses unless you slice them to small pieces and then assemble them again outside the city, but hey, how about stealing some salt from Zendar and selling it in the salt mine) undetected every time, you won't have a negative status and you might just as well be the best friends with a count and then tada - you put your mask on and go steal his horses.

I had an idea that mabey if your mens morale was good enough they would try to break you out of jail. So that the chances of a jailbrake happeneing would depend on your mens morale.

If they do indeed try to brake you out of jail, a fight begins from the castle gates and you must all try to escape or fight your way out of town.

Not sure if its a good idea but anyway.
