Polearm Animations

First of all I'd just like to say this is an awesome mod. My favourite so far

I love the units, items, faction trees and mercs. They're all brilliantly done and lots of fun to play around with!

The only thing I dislike is the polearm animations used in the mod. The 'over head' lunge thrust makes it very hard to target with attacks on horse back and looks absurd when using a lance. It looks okay with some spears, but I still find the movement to look clumsy and I prefer the old one.

Is there a way I can change these animations back myself?

Thanks for the great mod

Just give it a try, you will get used to the new animation and targeting too. It makes spears usable in large groups, as for lances, well historically they were created to be used in cough position anyway.

What Steff said. It takes time to get used to it, but shortly after that it's very to use lances effectively again. Begin with fast lances and get your proficiency high, speed does help here a lot, especially when you're still learning.

Because game uses the wrong animation and it looks silly.
Overhead attack wasn't supposed to use with lances but once added, there weren't way to set it work only with spears. It was Xenoargh's decision to keep both the animation and messed lancing.
It is mentioned in Wall of Text.

If you like them that's great, I for one absolutely have them, I've yet to find *one* animation re-work I like in my time in MnB.

Anyway, I'm going to do some experimenting and hopefully figure out a way to solve it, any help from someone who knows what they're doing would be great though!

Edit: I replaced Actions.txt with the one from native and so far so good, old animations with no violent crashes etc so far.
